  1. Next time he's around I will get a pic. It's a pretty sweet setup in the back of a SUV. All nice and organized in a big foam cutout piece with those battery powered motion sensors LED lights. The real crazy things we find are in the back of the cruisers people stash under the seats when they don't have the plastic seats in the back to prevent that. Biggest worry is sticking your hand down in there and getting poked by needles. ?
  2. It was just nice jumping onto a forum with zero posts and not having everyone being a dick saying "use the search function this has been covered 100 times" If it has been covered 100 times then apparently I'm not typing in the right keywords lol A little help never hurts anyone.
  3. I picked up this Atlas keymod hand guard for my first LR.308 build and for the price it could not be beat. It is designed for the M5 high rail upper and fits 100% seamlessly. Here's a pic, I definitely wouldn't rule them out for the price. *WOOPS Didn't realize DPMS's are not High railed. Sorry for confusion.
  4. Those 9mm AR's are interesting weapons. The company I work at does all the lighting, 12v electrical and radio work on the majority of the police cruisers in our area minus the state highway patrol (they have there own person) Anywho, one of the local Sheriff's was in and got the oppertunity to check out his Tahoe setup in his cruiser we just put together with a big single drawer tough box in the rear. He had a M16 the was the select fire with burst mode, a 12 gauge and another AR type weapon that was 9mm with the fun switch (full auto). Very cool gun and the mags did look like the glock type. I didn't take a close enough look to check out the brand of the weapons but they were the blued receivers. Might of been colts but hard to tell and I don't know if they make 9mm's. It would just seem difficult to me to try to fit them small pistol mags into an AR receiver and they look kinda funky. Interesting setups though and I would definitely take one in .40. Sorry for being a little off topic but just thought it was cool so I would share.
  5. This was a good thread, Thanks all for making it enjoyable lol. oh and getting that problem figured out way back there in the beginning. LOL
  6. ^^What they said :)
  7. I shot my buddies .300 blackout. I also liked it since subsonic ammo was commercially available and a can is in my near future.
  8. I will do that and guess what??? I would say I have a problem no less than a day after I get my newest build working I go buy another stripped lower. It's a 5.56 but I was thinking I wanted a little more exotic type round. What's everyone's thoughts on 6.5 Grendel?
  9. Holy sh!t, I never knew they could be that far off. I will definitely go by what Wash said. That's crazy a chambered bullet boresight could be off by that much!
  10. Very good info there Wash. I will have to try that. I have a bore sight for 5.56 and noticed that if I sight a scope in on one of my AR-15's since it is the same platform putting it onto the other rifle usually works pretty dang good, or I just throw the 5.56 bore sight bullet in the chamber of the .308 and leave the bolt locked back. It usually gets me close but I will have to try the way you mentioned and check it with the bore sight. Them damn lasers are so cheap anymore. I bought one off fleabay a couple days ago for $10.00. It's the actual bullet to. For that price I say what the hell.
  11. Started with a 91/30 MN. Then got a M38 Carbine Nagant. Found a Zastava single stack AK. Cut the mag well up and drilled the poop outta it. converted it to a standard double stack AK. Then came a Glock, while I have always had my eyes on AR's being a 22 YO kid never really had the means to buy one (espically since that was when the big scare came and a standard bushmaster was 1200$) so that really led me to converting the Zastava to high cap mags. Figured if I could accomplish that I could put together a lower. Always had a fascination with SBR's and when the Sig Tac brace came out built my first 5.56. It was a pistol with a 10.5 Govt. Profile barrel and carbine gas system. The whole AR platform really engulfed me with the simplicity/functionality. Built a couple AR rifles and got tired of going out to the range to blow through ammo and just shoot stuff 50-75yrds down range. Told myself I wanna start to target shoot and learn how to take down targets further out. Just finished my first LR308 and ready to teach myself! ??
  12. LOL I noticed I got a good laugh when they all jumped on that salesman on your thread. I'm just glad you and the other guys got on here and had simimlar experiences to point me in the right direction. My first thought was it was under gassed just nice to know others had same issues before drilling into a new barrel.
  13. Glad you got back on this thread. After reading through yours that's exactly what I was thinking. Same size to begin with as what yours started with. Doesn't look like to much testing goes into there super secret gas ports, but hey what do I know ??
  14. That looks like what he's talking about, I didn't see it on JT's or the x-caliber barrel thread. I think the solution is the quarters.
