  1. Thanks Survival. I don't know if I want to even mess with this any more but FAXON has not offered much help.
  2. I told you please tell me I'm not crazy.
  3. They install their pins from left to right. The size of the pin on the left is definitely larger than the right (ejection side) look at the pictures and tell me if I'm crazy.
  4. I'm just trying to confirm with FAXON which way they install their pins before I beat on it any more. It appears that they could be installed in the wrong direction. I'll probably try adding some heat before I pound them out. FAXON said they may have applied red lock tight on the pins when installed. I just haven't had time to work on it and when I do my little guy is usually asleep and I don't want to wake him up banging in the basement once he finally falls asleep.
  5. I understand that, but the small side of the pin is supposed to be opposite the ejection port side.
  6. Is this pinned in the wrong direction?
  7. I don't mind the barrel or stock rule, I'm building a range rifle. For me it's the grip. I need something to hold onto. But if the pet l upper and lower are separated on the way to the range they are just "gun parts," not an actual gun.
  8. This is from the State Police
  9. It can be a colabsaple stock, but it needs to be pinned so it can't move. When they first passed the SAFE Act you could only have 7 rounds, for everyone including police!! I used to bust their balls and ask if they were breaking the law today. They would just laugh. That aspect of the law is been overruled, you can now carry 10. Now they want us to update our permits every five years. From what I hear this time around there is no cost but next time there will be a surcharge on every weapon in your license. I hear a bunch of clubs are pooling money to take that to court. All my info is up to date on my permit I can respect having the correct info (address etc.) But I don't want to pay a surcharge for every weapon on my permit. I'm in upstate, we're more conservative than NYC. Many local Country Sheriff's have refused to enforce the SAFE act and I know there is a Senator from the Syracuse area who is trying to get the law appealed. New York State would be a Republican state if we could lose NYC and the Buffalo area. There are a few counties that determine which way the state goes. Next year may be interesting, I think the Republicans may come out like they did for Trump next year because they are tied of the Democrats. Andy Cuomo is gearing up for a presidential run in 2020. That would be bad. I think NYC might have a five round rule if not they are 7.
  10. Fixed stock, no pistol grip nothing with holes in it at the end on the barrel. Probably parallel with CA laws.
  11. Wash part of my decisions are based on the rules I have to follow in NY.
  12. I have a round delta. That pin isn't budging.
  13. I'm going to make a jig today and try abs use the vice to press them out. Got a little work done last night. Still waiting for the buffer tube so I had to stop there.
  14. My dad and I are building this together. He was buying the barrel so I was trying to find one at a reasonable price. He's retired and has a fixed income. I'm not that worried about getting the gas block on. My handguard is 16.5"
  15. The guy I'm assembling for got a FAXON barrel. Problem is the front mount for the handguard is round, we need the triangle. I contacted FAXON, they said the front sight could be removed so I could switch out the mount. Those pins aren't moving one bit.
  16. Going with this barrel once they have some in stock. Requires .936 block. https://moriartiarmaments.com/ar-10-.308/barrels-en-gb/20-.308-stainless-steel-bull-barrel-1-10-twist-ar-10-20-stainless-steel-barrel-?page=4
  17. Today
  18. Welcome to Dictator Cuomo's poop hole!
  19. Getting down to the last of small parts. Still waiting on a barrel. Paint should be here Friday. I'm a little surprised it isn't getting here faster with $15 for shipping but oh well. Still need a block for the upper and haven't made a decision yet, really with there was a clam (taking suggestions). Maybe start assembly in a couple weeks. These came today. They may get painted too.
  20. Good movie!
  21. Yes I was referring to that small space between the receiver and stock. The end of the buffer tube filing that space makes sense. Survival the barrel has the gas block built into the front sight. My friend bought a FAXON barrel that came worth a round cap, I didn't know the front of the grip was triangular till after everything was here . We are going to see if we can return it and get one with the triangle end cap already on. If not I'll pull the front site and switch it out. Putting the modern era stuff only takes me a couple hours. This build has been a good learning lesson. Thank you again for your responses, please keep them coming you guys are great.
  22. Do I need a spacer here?
  23. Where can I get that triangular piece. Does anyone have a barrel set up for the old style guard.
