Ah, understood. I thought people were using them to tune the rifle. It's a .308, the retail can't be THAT bad can it?

My main concern is just making sure it cycles properly. I've read it's just a good idea to have an adjustable gas block.

Hmm. I was planning on one of these for my build. I'll have to double check the gas length on my 16" barrel (got is second hand and don't recall the gas length). I was thinking this GB would offer the most adjustibility for tuning the rifle.

So, I'm starting off my first .308 build. Because I'm excited I thought I'd start a thread to share and post my updates. Plus, I just like sharing my pictures. Got a CMT .308 builder's set in FDE not long ago. Rainier 308 Ultra Match by Damage Photos, on Flickr Brake should be coming tomorrow. Not sure what all parts I'll end up using just yet. There are a few I know I'll end up with. LMT BCG, adjustable gas block (not sure which), hoping the 308 FCD bolt catch comes out soon.

Google, about a month ago. Then forgot I created an account. Searched for .308 podcasts and found an AR15pocast episode with "robocop" from here and came back to check it out again.
