Did some Christmas shopping there. This really expresses the way I felt when I walked in! My kids loved it as well. They want to go back to look at the animals. We went over to Joe's in Minnesota, I think it's in St. Paul, we really liked that place too. Not as much stuff for an AR, but really nice people. And then of course there is Cabelas! This place really does have it all! Get to go out hunting 1 more time tomorrow. Hopefully I can bag something. It'd be a shame to have all that new gear on the rifle and not really get to use it!

I'm in Polk Co. I've been really enjoying myself here. We've met lots of good people. My wife's family has been living here for 5 or 6 years, and have nothing but good things to say. We only arrived on Thanksgiving, but I am really liking it, even with the -17 temp this morning while I was out hunting ;)

Hello everyone, I know it's been awhile since I've been on here. Things have been chaotic to say the least. Firstly, I've moved from Oregon to Wisconsin. Talk about a world of difference. The great news is that there is a very large white tail population here, and hunting is fantastic! This was in a week. None of them where mine, as I showed up at the tail end of things. But there is another week going on from today till New Years day, so I will be able to hopefully get to fill up my freezer some before the year ends. Also on the good news front, I got to find out if that handguard I originally posted about would fit. It does! I also got to put on that Primary arms scope, a minimalist stock, and an Indian Creek Blast Forwarding Device. I have an amazing wife who let me get my Christmas presents early! She knew that I'd have to sight everything in before the season. I'm a very blessed man. ;) Hopefully I won't be as much of a stranger on here. I look forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to. Merry Christmas to all.

That was one of the things that turned me off on glocks. Love my Sig P320! "Accidental shooting" or ND, I'm still pretty sure that no one likes getting shot. Couldn't agree more.

I was hoping, way down the line, to build a 45 Raptor. That shotgun upper would be nice too. Gotta start with a dream before you can make a plan, right? ;) I looked up that Colt. How can it do 7.62 and 5.56? I thought LG frame would not do small frame stuff?

Looks like they do some nice work. With the price of them though, it might be easier to buy a new UTR, and then use that lower for any other builds. Just want a variety of uppers and 1 lower to rule them all! ;)

So much for my hopes of building a 45 Raptor and getting a UTR-12 upper to put on top. Guess I'll just have to convince my wife that I need to get another rifle. ?

I have a DPMS Gen2 AP4, and I was wondering if a UTR-12 upper would work with my lower? Or if any other DPMS LR upper would work with it? Or will I have to wait till they release their Gen2 stripped uppers to make a new rifle?

So only a G2 upper will work with it?

I dad how the upper was different, and the BCG and whatnot, but how is the lower different? I showed my wife the video that @Robocop1051 posted, and she was like, "Oh, there's ANOTHER gun you want..." ? I never thought of a 12 gauge pistol... Very interesting! I like the way y'all spitball ideas around.

Thanks Jetfoc, different can be good. Just wanted to see if there was a technical reason you went that way with it. I believe most hunting and competition barrels go that route so they can take more rapid shots and the heat won't affect POI, if I'm not mistaken. I just have a lot to learn and tend to ask when I want to understand. ?

@survivalshop- You make some good points. To most people, one thing is as much the other as they want it to be. I mean I couldn't tell the difference between a '63 Pontiac Tempest and the '64 Buick Skylark if my life depended on it. But to people who KNOW, it's sometimes like a slap in the face if I call one the other, whether I intend to or not. I'm sure you've been around here long enough to know what I mean. ? But to you gentlemen who do KNOW the difference, I want to thank you all for taking the time to explain to us who don't. I know that I, and others who don't know the differences, must really get on your nerves sometimes. It's must be like trying to explain to a liberal what an assult rifle really is! It must seem like you're a broken record sometimes, "No, AR does not mean that." "No, there is no gunshow loophole."
