  1. I'm not totally sold on primary arms. I mean ...crap! I've never even heard of them until you mentioned them in that thread a few weeks ago. Unless a scope has a 10 or 20 year track record and backs up warranty issues. I'd have to see if touch it feel it. And even then I'd be hesitant to throw down part of a paycheck. I'm not in any dissing you so I hope you haven't gone there.
  2. 98Z5V hasn't had any issues with 147gr eld-m I'm gonna ....have to at least give em a shot
  3. Btw...ranges, I'm hoping will be out around 1000 yards at the very most. And 2-300 on the short side. I may even get to see some prairie dog shooting around 1/2 mile. It probably most shoots will be at steel or paper instead of animals. Although I'd love to take out a 'yote after he's ran off from seeing the truck and then slowing down and ultimately stopping after he figured he was safe
  4. I built my first big AR this winter. I also have an ar15 I built 15 years ago. Overtime is coming as we finish building a new French fry plant for Lamb Weston in the Pacific northwest....so money isn't a huge hurdle. I dont mind throwing down the duckets if indeed it's what I want and it does the job. I'd like to be able to have reticle set up in yards for my ballistics or some kind of drop compensating marks. I know nightforce has something close because I set up one for my dads 338 ultra mag. There are about 8 different reticles with set ballistics. Also looking at Vortex but honestly dont know anything about them. They can run over 2k as well. And it looks life they have some kind of trajectory help reticles too. Are there any websites that can help educate me and sort of coach me towards what I want/need. You'll have been a wealth of knowledge for me as I've built this creedmoor. Even down to the double rifle soft case
  5. Is your WC barrel 1-8" twist. I've heard some say they'd recommend 7.5 twist rate for the longer bullets. I've loaded up some eld-x to try out. I wonder if the match M will shoot any different. Freak northwest snowstorm has everyone around hunkered down closing major interstate s and crap
  6. 9.5 EE steel toe danner super rain forest. 3 days on them and the steel goes were killing my wide ass feet. For sale of you know anyone that could use them. I made up some loads last Saturday but Sunday was ccccoolldd in SE Washington. Maybe this Saturday.... ...thanks for the kind replies. I hope she shoots as good as she looks. That scope is duplex reticle variX 3 long range with side parralax adj I had in the safe. Probably not the scope that'll end up on that rifle. Any ideas from you all. I'm leaning towards nightforce because they're solid and real nice but they got so many models now and I dont really know what I want. I'll use it mostly for snacking steel to .5 mile but it might see use filling a doe tag or an occasional coyote
  7. I recall you saying you shoot the .260 . Is it a gas gun? What kind of accuracy are you seeing?
  8. I have lots of other powders as I reload for .223 22-250 6x 284win 25-06 7mm RM 300WM 338UM. Mostly slower powders. Then fast like 2230 accurate and h335. Those 2 I mentioned I've not used before. Just heard from different sites they excelled in the creedmoor. Anything less than moa out to near 1/2 mile will be a disappointment
  9. Time to hit the range as soon as I get a decent Saturday off. Yes, I handload and i have rl-17 and h-4350 with 140 and 143 gr bullets from hornady and berger
  10. A few places I shopped ir BCG made it clear I needed a high pressure bolt with a small strong firing pin for me 6.5 creedmoor build. I went with the Ni-Boron from aero precision as they seemed like a reputable company. Lol, they probably dont even make the carriers but put their name on it
  11. Lol...just skimming the net and saw these. Looks very nice. Just measured my new weapon and I'm just under 44" so the 46" should work. Thanks...now is the hard part- picking the model and color
  12. My old ar15 haz a Kolpin caae that guys pretty good but I cant cond them like that anymore. A strap system that doubles as a backpack would be ideal. Any ideas where to start looking? Thank fellas. I just installed vg6 gamma break along with the cage that diffuses the sound and cuncussion . I ve been shooting a round every night on my way home from work along a sparsely traveled road just to break the barrel in as I dont get but Sunday for any free time.
  13. Itll be fun to shoot and I'm guess in sub moa ro 1/2 mile. Yes itll be a heavy bitch. I don't really hunt much any more. I' m already researching parts for another AR build in 6mm creedmoor. I have a Bolt gun in 6mmx 284 winchester but it's a barrel burner and weighs in @ 20 lbs
  14. Just ordered the gamma 300blackout and the CAGE. Should be here by Saturday but I'll most likely be working...ugh!
  15. Without the scope AND bipod I'm just under 12 lbs. It wasn't until I started connecting all the pieces did I realize weight will be an issue. On the bright side, more weight, less recoil?
  16. I see. Honestly, I was a bit surprised when the barrel came threaded. Only rifle I shoot with a break is Win model 70 300 WM and a boss. Btw...I really appreciate the time you took to help me out.guys like make these boards worthwhile. Only problem with my build so far its gonna be a truck gun or target gun because its HEAVY I'm already thinking about a ultralight 6mm creedmoor
  17. It works good even though it's made for the 300 blackout? How does the sound compare to shooting without a muzzle break? From your description it's exactly what I'm looking for. I'm already over $2500 with my build ....what's another 200. Right?
  18. Yes the gas blocks. 936 and threaded muzzle is .875. Got the barrel from fulton armory already with the chamber cut in
  19. No, I haven't. there isn't any info on the diameter where it meets the unthreaded part of my barrel. It 'looks' small from the picture. I'd prefer a break that isn't so hard on the ears as I don't normally hunt with ear protection. At the range, yes
  20. I've finished my 6.5 creedmoor build on a matched aero precision receiver set. Heavy kreiger 22" matte stainless barrel. The barrel came threaded so now i'm looking for a muzzle break compensator with .875 diameter. Preferably same finish and diameter. ive looked in brownells and aero precision. most of them are .750. can you fellas point me in the right direction. the muzzle break and a bolt disassembly tool to remove the ejector so I can check headspace with my go-no go gauges and I can start breaking in the barrel and making handloads for it.
  21. will do..thanx
  22. I don't know how people can afford to live in that state. Couple that with ungodly traffic in attraction site and the city...I don't care to ever cross the border into that place. aren't people leaving by the droves?
  23. years ago I bought an rcbs powder pro electronic scale. I'm looking to purchase the automatic powder dispenser/trickler I think they call it the loadmaster. does anyone know if an old scale will 'talk' to a new dispenser or do I need to buy them together as a set. Thanks for any responses
  24. locking back isn't a deal breaker for me as long as they cycle. I'm a little surprised with the rl22 as its more of a magnum rifle powder. my fav load with my 300 is 180 gr accubond over rl22. Thanks for the tips. And yes, I'll start fairly low like you mentioned
