  1. i want to see him with the fatal gun shot wound in his worthless head
  2. I've noticed there hasn't been any pictures of the coward that started this mayhem ..only the interview of the hero that took him out. If anything, they could show the hero holding up the head by the hair with the bullet hole through his forehead....you know, as kind of a deterrent
  3. interesting..I'm thinking the interior of my V Seven titanium bolt carrier is on the outside of tolerance dimensions. Maybe i can get out next weekend to shoot it...see what happens.
  4. 2nd focal plane. I'm looking at a vortex viper gen 2 5-25 for prairie dogs out to 400 or 500 yards. I'm concerned about the ebr-7c reticle obscuring the view at higher magnifications
  5. did a google search for jp gas rings and got this site. www.nokick.com they're selling the new and improved one piece jp gas ring. looks like a key chain ring. they say it reduces friction yet improves the gas seal. Apparently...its the future🙄
  6. does it pass the stand up test with the bcg standing upright on the bolt without bcg falling into the pin notch in the bcg?
  7. no....not even close
  8. good to know..thanks
  9. just got a call back from a tech at V Seven. He mentioned JP has been using a one piece gas ring on their bolts..Macfarland ring i think he said. Said he hasnt seen or didnt see any issues with it. We'll see. There isnt any slop side to side, just very resistance going into the carrier itself
  10. I'm just really curious if it'll be ok to shoot it like this. I swapped bolts with my previous build, a 6.5 CM, and there seemed to be at least some resistance as i pushed the bolt into the carrier. Are there available fatter gas rings to take up a little more space, or is it even a big deal. What's the worse that can happen ?
  11. i just finished a 6 cm build on a aero precision set of receivers. A seven V carrier and a jp high pressure bolt. Very little resistence (if any) between the carrier and gas rings. havent shot it yet
  12. I ended up purchasing a sd tactical brake. They recommended the Titan mini and i bought a pig cover along with it. From what i understand the pig cover directs the gas and sound out the front. We'll see how it works in a few weeks and I'll report back. I put most of the lower together last night after chasing springs and detents all over my kitchen. I just ordered the wrench and the upper vise block to mount the barrel to the upper.
  13. are these brakes installer friendly? I've installed exactly 1 vg6 brake. they used a crush washer to allow the brake enough of another revolution to be straight.
  14. yes..5/8 x24
  15. speaking which...your comment makes me rethink my quandry. A brake is nice for shooting with earmuffs but deafening when shooting/hunting dogs. I need one U can use a cover on when not needed
  16. My last build I used a vg6 Gamma brake 300 blackout for my 6.5 CM and the diffuser cage. With my latest build probably 3 lbs lighter, a decent brake it most a must. The cage softens the precussion somewhat but it only fits 5.56 and .308. Its oversized for the 6.5 and e en moreso for the 6cm. I might just end just putting on one of their 6.5 brakes
  17. proof research carbon fiber barrel in 6 creedmoor, v sevens titanium bcg, Luth carbine mpa-3 adjustable stock, gissele ssa-e. 500 Petersen creedmoor brass
  18. aero precision red white blue flag builder kit. I need some guidance on a carbon fiber barrel, a titanium or similar light bcg and stock. I emailed proof research today. They have a barrel with 1: 7.5" twist. they said it'll stabilize ALL 6MM bullets
  19. Thanks for the info. I've been battling pneumonia the last week and I'm getting bored watching TV and sleeping. I'll check this out tomorrow
  20. I'd be interested in a workbook that teaches how to do exactly what you're talking about. Using a known size of the target and mildot ro approximate range then again using mild to holdover and engage the target. Once you do it 15 -20 times it should become old hate
  21. Good shooting
  22. That looks pretty neato....go go gadget! I bet it works great right up until it doesn't. I'd like to know if and when the app goes away or your phone is too old to support the program....then what? Is there an actual crosshair that moves with manual clicks from a turret. If the battery dies and the picture tube is junk, do I have to sharpen my scope to a razor's edge and use it to kill my quarry? Serious question
  23. Does it work? I thought a few years ago I k or heard a guy talking about something similar fi Swarovsku
  24. I know what you mean about moa turrets with mildot reticles. I never understood the logic there. I really like nice sharp clear glass. Years ago I spent several days burning out my barrel in a 220swift slaying prairie dogs. Leopold vari x-3 scope and I believe my 25-06 had a Burris signature series. Looking through those lenses all can be brutal without decent glass. My hunting scopes just need to maintain a zero take a fall and not fog up. The day is coming where we can upload our ballistics into a smart scope with a built in laser rangefinder. Push the 'range' button and then the rezero- then send it!
  25. I apologize if my post made me sound lazy. I dont mind spending time (when i get some) doing research on glass. The problem is so many things have changed since Ive shot much. The last LR gun I made and spent any time with was a 6mmx284 winchester. Huge 30" lilia barrel I put a 12x42 benchrest nightforce scope on it. Still have the scope and gun...that project was around 2004. Now there's so many changes since then. New calibers new bullets and powders. New scope manufactures etc etc. I was just hoping for a shortcut to see what's the hot reticle type and ways to make precise longer shots. The old ways were either mildot holdover or clicking up the elevation knob on your chosen scope. The issue being 1mil was 3.6 inches@ 100 yards and the turret graduation are minute of angle. I think I even have an old mildot master around somewhere. It seems as far as technology has come there has to be a quicker easier way. I didnt want to put anyone off by the 2500 limit on the scope. I'd cringe paying that much but I would if I was convinced that scope would allow be to add stretch the 6.5 CM legs. I'll have time Saturday to do more studying Thanks again for all the help
