  1. Mine looks the same. Just went ahead and ordered an AR-10 gas tube because of the info gleaned from this site. Also cut my losses and ordered the buffer spring and buffer because the stock Palmetto ones are wrong.
  2. To be honest, I don't know you enough to say if you're a dummy or not. You have a lot of not so random information rattling around your brain housing group (BHG) that somehow spills out at the most opportune times. Good information that is helpful and on point. Thank you for letting that slip out. Anybody around 98Z5V? How big is the cranium getting?
  3. Just trying to see how big it'll get, lol.
  4. Same story here except I am skipping the Palmetto CS headache. It is a testament to the value of this site that you and I can sit here and have somebody to thank for their helpfulness in dealing with issues. 98Z5V has been on point with the info, and there is a bunch of other cats here that have been seriously helpful whether they know it or not. Forums can either be full of trolls or genuine people. I like this site for the helpful, genuine people (with troll tendencies, lol).
  5. Thank you, but it is the information you have provided that has allowed me to be wary of the issues and the solutions to fix them. I am grateful for your willingness to share your knowledge.
  6. Here she is put together. I still need to install the AR-10 gas tube I received last week as well as the buffer and spring when it gets here.
  7. Here is a before and after of the buffer tube depth. Used my Dremel to open up the notch a tad, that got me the room I needed to get one extra turn on the tube. Also slid a quarter in the tube to get me to 7 5/8".
  8. I went ahead and ordered an Armalite spring and H3 buffer. Both are in stock at Primary Arms.
  9. Receiver, not extension.
  10. Picked up the lower today. Regular H buffer, spring is only 11 1/2" , buffer tube depth is 7 11/16". I don't think the tube is far enough into the receiver extension either, and I don't think I'll get another full turn on it. I'll post a pic of that later.
  11. I might be able to get into some hog hunting here in Okie, with some distance opportunities. I was all set to pull the trigger on a Ruger RPR in .308 and my buddy who's the hog hunter said nuh uh. When they decide to charge you cannot run that bolt gun fast enough. Fair enough says I. I wanted to stay with the .308 and the AR platform just simply makes sense considering the conditions. Palmetto prices kind of make it a no brainer, even if I have to replace a few things to get it right. Considering a different caliber upper in my AR-15 as well, lol.
  12. Lower has arrived at the FFL. I will pick it up on Friday. AR10 gas tube is due in tomorrow. I really really really want to just plop this thing together and shoot it as is . Curious to see the malfunctions for myself, as well as baseline it for the fixes / upgrades.
  13. I am not. But on a different note, my lower ships today.
  14. I'll post up once it gets here and give you the dimensions of the spring and buffer tube, and of course which buffer is included. Maybe even throw in a pic or two. Stay tuned.
  15. I know I know I know, just verifying what I already knew, lol. Gas tube ordered. If I ever get the lower I'm prepared to order a new buffer and spring, but I want to measure it first...maybe they screwed up and got it right.
  16. Got the upper today. First thing I looked at was the gas tube length. To me it seems a tad short. Opinions? Also, it appears they have changed the hand guard to something that is unbranded. It says "Made In The USA" on both sides and the M-Lok logo on the bottom. It doesn't quite match the finish of the upper either. That doesn't bother me all that much to be honest. BCG seems to be OK but I haven't taken it apart yet.
  17. Academy has the RPR on sale now, uggh.
  18. Upper shipped today!
  19. Thanks for the welcome. I have digested all the info I could find on this forum. I feel like I have a handle on what to look for when the assemblies arrive. My luck is all the parts will be right and it will still have issues, lol. At any rate, I'll post up pics as I get the stuff.
  20. New to the forum, so hi everybody! I just ordered the complete upper and lowers separately to save a few bucks. I didn't really research the PA10 all that much since I have had good luck with PSA stuff in the AR platform in the past and I just needed something not too expensive to pop hogs and go to the range with. I was going to get and RPR bolt gun but I was told that would be a bad choice if we were all up in the hogs and they decided to make us dance, lol. .308 based AR was the alternative, and here I am. Found this forum after the money was spent. I am glad I did as it seems the PA10 can be fraught with issues. Thankfully there is some talent on this board that have been gracious enough to share the fixes. Let me thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge, and let me apologize for the inevitable stupid questions that will spew forth from my keyboard.
