Whats a good hunting trigger around $100 for a DPMS Oracle .308? LaRue Tactical MBT-2S seems OK?

I moved up to a .308 because my Grendel failed to pass thru a deer hit in the shoulder area at 30 yds. There was no blood trail and it was never found in the thick brush. Read the Grendel forum and you will see this is not unusual. A Grendle is fine if the animal drops in it's track but don't count on following a blood trail.

^^^ Cliff I'm seeing mounts for oval shaped holes and teardrop shaped holes but not round holes like on the DPMS Oracle hand guard. What type mount did you use?

Cliff your first pic is the hand guard I have. Did you use one of the attachments Swift showed above?

I have not yet seen this rifle but pics seem to show the hand guard to be a standard tubular type. Hopefully something like Swiftabs suggestions will work.

How do you put a forward sling stud on an AR10?

Skull do you like yours? How accurate? I'll be happy with a couple of inches at 100yds.

I've ordered the DPMS Oracle .308 with 16" barrel and a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10 X 44 scope. Hope it doesn't go over 10 lbs with a half full magazine and a sling.

I guess the .308 caliber because of rifle weight and price. Still trying to decide on which manufacturer. Then there is the scope. Leaning toward a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44. As you can see I'm not in a hurry.

Would you choose the DPMS Oracle or Diamondback complete .308 rifle with 16" barrel for hogs and deer at ranges up to 250 yards and why? Buds Gun Shop online seems to have the best pricing on both.

I mentioned that the CM must require longer barrels because I don't see it in complete AR rifles with 16" barrels. There are plenty in .308. I walk a lot with my rifles so weight is important to me. I am questioning the rifles not the caliber.

I would lean toward the CM if there were some reliable lightweight AR style rifles with 16" barrels in the DPMS Oracle/Diamondback price range. I guess the CM needs longer barrels.

I will use it for deer and hogs under 300 yds.

I am trying to decide between a .308 or 6.5 Creedmore complete AR type rifle. The proclaimed 30% less recoil of the 6.5 interests me but it seems those rifles all have 20"+ barrels which makes them heavier than a .308 with a 16" barrel. I like the price and weight of the .308 Diamondback and DPMS Oracle. I'm new here and would appreciate your comments.
