Making some adjustments on my load for the Uintah bolt AR. Sort of different than most. Target poa is 1/4" dots at 100 yds. I like to run powder at .2 gn intervals initially for my load ladder. What I do with my set up is , fire 3 shots at each dot horizontally with the listed charges and cool barrel between. Then I drop down to line 2 horizontal and repeat for verification. After that I will go do another target set for the .1 divisions. After powder charge has been established I repeat the procedure with different seating depth. Yep, you got it, I enjoy burning up powder, barrels and loading. Whatta Hobby!

Both the PS-90 and the P-90 can use a zippered cloth bag that attaches to the bottom of the pdw and does a great job of catching spent casings.

Sightron 66011 S6 10-60x56 FTD came in today. Mounted in on an AR Uintah Precision bolt action using ultra high Night force 34mm rings. Ready for some nice weather . Whatta Hobby!

Found a couple of 500 cnt boxes of these back on a shelf in the shop. Decided that while I am waiting for a new supply of Berger 115 fb target to get here I would load up a bunch of the TMKs over 46.2 gn of Varget in Starline and Lapua Palma brass with 205M primers and a COL of 2.800. These are mainly for my bolt rifles, but do work very well in the M14s and AR10 too. Whatta Hobby!

Weather is clearing and nice comfortable for prone shooting off a bipod. Getting ready for a Veteran's Day/USMC birthday shoot this weekend. I am thinking of using a Bula Defense Systems M14 with a Bula ultra heavy barrel , most parts are Winchester USGI in a Mac stock. Accu-Trac bipod and a Leupold MK 4 fixed 16x scope mounted on a Basset picatiny rail. Practice will be at 100 and 200 today with the shoot at 300 and 500. Loving every minute of it. So much fun grabbing a rifle and then deciding which scope and other components are needed for a particular purpose. Whatta Hobby!

Primed a hundred each SR and LR this morning using the Primal Rights tool. Have to admit it's very nice. Most expensive and it runs flawlessly. Primer tube feed is perfect. Whatta Hobby!

Bought this little toy years ago and like the caliber 5.7x28 so much I had to add an FN Five Seven and an upper for an AR in the same 5.7x28. Fun to shoot and makes a great coyote rifle out to 300 yds. Whatta Hobby!

Most don't and what I have seen from LE on my range and in my AOO, I wouldn't want them trying to use a rifle in my neighborhood. Today's conventional houses are not even bullet resistant to a pistol bullet so a rifle in the wrong hands spells big problems. Nice of you to offer, but training should come first, you could easily become a victim of your good intentions. Personally I like the bug in philosophy. Whatta Hobby!

That's pretty neat. I haven't shot an regular AR long enough for one to warm up in almost 60 years. Whatta Hobby!

For those of you that shoot a lot, how many are using barrel coolers? Been using the RIFLEKUHL, red unit in photo, for some time and recently picked up another option that works way faster as a result of listening to guys that use them. After buying the blower and finding the necessary tubing and fittings, I think a test is in order. Trying to help a few of my rifle's barrels last a bit longer, the use of a cooler between strings should help. Whatta Hobby!

Really liking the least expensive of the priming tool test so far. The Lyman Accu-Prime on the 5" InlineFabrication base is just what the Dr ordered for my precision loading application. No problem, for me, placing the primers individually in the tool. I seldom prime over a couple of hundred cases at a time and It make me feel like more a part of things. Only takes a few seconds to change tools on the base. Whatta Hobby!

Bunch of non BT for me. Great for keeping old ears working. No more pinching the fat cheeks on rifle butts with muffs. Whatta Hobby!

Nope, not me in photo, I was behind the camera, it's a friend from Colorado. Just a note, The Litchfield Artillery has taken part in our openings and their canon at 500 yds is amazing. You are right about " many " ranges in excess of 300 yds in CT are not open to the public for good reason. There are even a few private airstrips that are " classified", not my wording, but it is accepted. Searches by keyboard commandos don't usually come up with anything, and that's good. Lot's of 50 Barrett and 338 Lapua shooters in my area. First photo is my loading area, second is another of my photos taken at Whittington Center and last is me providing some humor. Whatta Hobby!
-
Would love to, but I believe it is still classified. No cameras or cellphones allowed. This photo was taken a few years ago at Whittington Center during a shoot in New Mexico. Buffalo is over 1200 yds if that helps. Whatta Hobby!

As Ron Reagan said, " There you go again" . As a note, I shoot on a local 1200yd rang a few miles from my home whenever I wish. The range in my yard goes to 300 and 100 - 150 is my choice for the precision shooting style I prefer. 1/4 moa is 1/4 moa whether it''s at 25 yds or 2500 yds. And no, I am not shooting benchrest my friend. Whatta Hobby!

I have a couple of Sons, grand sons and great grand kids that are getting into shooting a loading so there is no lack for places for used gear to find a home. Many of my rifles and magazines were grandfathered when CT decided to go full libtard.

Rgr on the Collins gear in the photo, but there are no Kenwood rigs in my shack. Yaesu and JRC in the bench. Yep been in CT except for my few years in the USMC. CT is s good state to own anything that is legal. Whatta Hobby!

Yes Sir. Been a ham since 1961. No bazillionair though. During all my working years I set aside bucks for my hobbies during retirement. I worked until I was 75 and have since been enjoying life. Whatta Hobby!

Added Inline Fabrication quick change base plate to my Forster's home position on the right of the bench then added quick change plates for my Rock-Chucker, Forster Co-ax, Lyman Accu-Prime and Primal Rights CPS so any of these can mount either on the Inline Standing base or the base plate bolted to my bench. After all these years it's seems strange doing things right and not have to bolt and unbolt things as they get changed. Got a couple of spare quick change plates for additions. Whatta Hobby!
-
Added some anti-slip rubber feet to the InlineFabrication mount I am using for the Primal Rights CPS. Feels like it is bolted to the bench but still portable. This mount has removable top plates so I can put whatever I would like on it in 10 seconds. Whatta Hobby!
-
A little ahead of schedule, the PrimalRights CPS is set up and ready to start priming. Took two 50 rnd batches or prepped brass out of the dryer , 50 .223 and 50 .308 then ran them through the neck sizing mandrels so they are ready to prime. Whatta Hobby!

Did manage to do a little unpacking and setting up this morning. Looks simple enough for an old guy to make them work. Both have micrometer set seating depth for the primers. Whatta Hobby!

Have been trying out a few different bench priming tools recently. My right wrist and elbow just won't stand for the amount of priming I have been doing using hand priming tools. So far have used the RCBS bench primer tool, LEE, Forster and Lyman with the Lyman being chosen. Today a Derraco PCPS and a PrimalRights CPS came in. Looking forward to using them all. I do have a Lyman with auto feed on the way. Truly enjoying every minute of the process. Whatta Hobby!

Fun practice for anyone looking to improve their accuracy skills. 1/4" dots shot at 100 yds. 1/4 moa is exactly that no matter what distance you shoot. For this one a Savage 110 with Criterion 26" 1-8. Ammo Handloaded Lapua .223 Match brass, Berger 73 gn hpbt target over 23 gn of Varget with 205M primers. Max spread right at a .2 for an average under that. Whatta Hobby!
