Questions on LR308 extractors & ejectors...

I've built up a couple LR-308 style rifles...

The bolts for these builds are factory DPMS LR-308 both purchased from Midway...

One bolt has a rubber bumper instead of a spring in the extractor...

Are the rubber pieces worth a poop or should the extractor be replaced with one that takes a spring???

I haven't had issues with it just wondering...

My first build spit out the ejector when we were out shooting a while back...

I replaced it with a new one but it stuck out of the face of the bolt enough so it wouldn't feed right...

I took a stone and took a bit off so it was recessed in the face of the bolt and would strip rounds and feed right...

Is this common when replacing a ejector to have to trim it???

Thanks in advance!!!

If it was an AR 15/16 , I would wonder , but the 308AR , there are no MilSpec anything , so deviations from one manufacturer to another , may need you to become a part time Gunsmith , to fit parts or alter them .
