Troy Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Hi all, I am planning to get a lower for my .308 upper budget build. I am looking to get the lower from Tennessee Arms as I'm cheap and would like to know your opinions on them. I have read some members posts of Tennessee lowers and will be trying to acquire one. I have been searching for an Aero or other LR 308 compatible lower and all the places I see are out of stock and have been for some time. I built this upper about 6 months ago. I have been occasionally swapping off of my Cross Machine Tool 6.5 CM rifle lower (also built by me) and take this out occassionally. Fully functional and now I want to give this upper it's own lower. DPMS Lo profile upper. Spinta Precision 18" SS 1:10 rifle gas barrel with a clamp on block, Spinta .308 melonited BCG, Surplus Ammo CH with Strike Industries Ext. latch, 15" unbranded free float keymod handguard, Precision Armament M4-72 .30 cal brake. Magpul MBUS pro sights and a cheap 1-4 optic with QD mount. Tennessee Arms has a sale on a preassembled lower as I already have the other parts to complete it. Will be contacting them shortly as I have a dealer nearby who is willing to send the FFL to them.
survivalshop Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Even though the Upper works on another Lower , my thoughts are always to match the Upper & Lower Receivers with the same Manufacturer , because of possible Tolerance Stacking ,causing fitment issues, because there are no Spec'd standards on 308AR's . Its your call .
