Hawk45 Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 I've read about the gas tube riding different than on most 308AR platforms so just wanted to understand if this would be an issue if a free float handguard was to be used?

Hawk45 Posted July 2, 2011 Author Report Posted July 2, 2011 What I was refering to a quote on one of the ORC build threads here where it was posted that "the gas tube rides ABOVE the barrel nut teeth". I didn't fully understand the ramifications of that and how/if it would effect installing a FF handguard. Not knowing all the differences in all the 308 AR makes/models, I wanted to verify that Bushmasters new offerings in this relm hindered compatibility with DPMS parts.Thanks,Hawk

imschur Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 To me it sounds like they just didnt align the nut properly and forced the tube in place. Easy enough to verify on your own weapon.
