DPMS Handguard

I’m looking for a hand guard. I have a low profile receiver. Some manufacturers specify high/low profile, others do not. If they don’t specify how is it going to fit? Is it going to be something in the middle that may go on but looks like crap? Also would like to know if the high or low profile is more common and if there is any advantage from one to the other?

First 308 build.

All new dpms factory uppers are LOW. I think they switched around 2009. Some manufacturers are still using the older HIGH spec. LOW rails have the same height over bore as AR15s. This allows you to use normal irons in any combination and not have to worry about height differences. if the rail manufacturer doesnt specify, you should call and ask. They will fit either way but there will be a slight difference in height if you get it wrong and it will annoy you forever.
