JGshooter
OK I have read all of the post on this subject but want to get some personal info. I am looking for a drop in or free float railed hand guard for my armalite AR 10 16". What are the benefits to having a free float hand guard. the MI drop in I got did not fit . what is my best option with a budget in mind?? imschur
The basic idea is with a free float nothing contacts the barrel. With standard handguards its possible to slighly influence the barrel because of pressure on the handguard whether from your hand, rest or sling. Given the choice between a free float handguard and a match trigger get the trigger. The improvement will be much more profound imho
jfeenin
What about the Armalite drop-ins? (not 100% these are the right length for your particular rifle) http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=10705111KIT&ReturnUrl=Categories.aspx?Category=b9e694e7-7fbb-4a69-9f5a-b9c56f616345Armalite also makes free float quad rails. http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=10705323KIT&ReturnUrl=Categories.aspx?Category=64887808-f3c7-46f9-ad41-94c786b875b1I was looking at the free float non-railed handguard they have on their site but I am not thinking I need it right now but if you need the rail there are several options. I am still considering the Magpul MOE that RayGun19 recommended to me though.I've had a ton of great recommendations from this site. <thumbsup>
