saber18
I have a DPMS 308 lower and was wondering what Timney trigger will fit. From what I have read the AR15 will fit and the AR10 has a slightly heavier hammer and one is 3lb pull the other 4lb. I am leaning towards the 3lb AR15. Any comments? 98Z5V
Trigger pull weight and hammer force have nothing to do with each other, really. I have a 2.5lb Jard trigger in my .308 AR, and it's nice - in your shoes, I'd call up Timney and see if they can include the 3lb trigger spring with the heavier .308 AR hammer - you win, both ways. Now, for the heavier hammer, and the necessity in the .308 AR - you might need that if all you plan to shoot is foreign Mil-Surp ammo, with hard primers. If you'll only shoot off-the-shelf commercial .308 Win ammo, you shouldn't "need" a heavier hammer to set the stuff off. 3lb AR-15 trigger (and hammer) would do the job nicely. <thumbsup>
