PantherPlayer Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Just out of curiosity, what is your favorite reloading powder? Any major preferences such as Varget, or one of the other Hodgden powders, or some of the IMR powders, Reloder by Alliant Powder? How bout brass or primers? While we are here...what about die kits and other equipment? Any particular favorite brand in presses and scales?? Hope you don't mind bein pumped for answers :)
imschur Posted March 21, 2010 Report Posted March 21, 2010 Ive been out of the game for a while but I like Federal primers, Hornady progressive, Redding Single stage, Redding dies, Dillon when Redding doesnt offer one. Redding powder measure. RCBS for odds and ends tools.
SWshooter Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 I'll cast my vote for H-4895 as the universal rifle powder. Unique is the universal cast bullet pistol powder, and H-110 is the jacketed pistol powder. I have my loading manuals out and am ready for all comers. ;)
SWshooter Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 In presses I use a Lee turret press, I like the removable turrets. My heavy press is a RCBS Rockchucker. I installed a Hornady Lock-N-Load adapter and have all my dies for the Rockchucker installed in Lock-N-Load bushings, this is amazingly handy as it only takes a couple seconds to change dies. I use mostly new WW brass, and I like WW primers too. I used Lyman powder measures for years, but lately I bought a couple RCBS measures and I like them better. I still use a Hornady beam balance scale and double check it with a little Lee scale that is surprisingly accurate, if you can read the vernier scale.
