okienate
Just curious to see if anyone else has incorporated a POF upper and a DPMS lower?Thought I'd see more POF-talk here than zero posts.....
imschur
:) The forum has only been up since 11-14-2009. A side effect of starting over with its own domain is low traffic from google. The main site gets a good amount of traffic but most don follow the link to this forum. Please spread the word. I believe the .308 AR popularity is going to increase fast. Thanks for joining. okienate
After my initial posting, and some wandering around on the site, I noticed that.I'm pretty sure the .308 platforms are gonna be huge as well. (Don't get me wrong, I'm just fine with the 5.56 crowd, but I just prefer the heavier metal!)I'll spread the word when making my rounds. Would like to see this grow!! Madhouse
Is the POF upper more expensive than the DPMS?
imschur
Yeah, the POF upper's are in the $1800 price range. Keep in mind that the POF's are gas piston driven which is pretty unique on the .308's at the moment. DPMS has no such offering.
imschur
Heres the exploded view
okienate
The POF upper is almost 2x the price of a similar DPMS Rifle. I just decided that I'd prefer the piston operated platform over the direct impingement offered by DPMS on their .308 platform. (Originally had trouble with this decision, hence the DPMS lower receiver.)I didn't let price deter me, just dove in head first and hoped for the best. Needless to say, I'm not disappointed to this point.Eventually would like to get a POF lower to put under this fella and MAY end up getting DPMS upper any way, but for now I'm happy with the function and accuracy of my current setup. bigkrazyjon
First time post.... If your interested in a POF lower. I just picked up the lower at the Houston Gun Show for $299 almost $200 less than a competitor. If you want I can call the company I bought it from, they told me I could get the other if I call to their shop.
