BeeKay Posted May 5, 2024 Report Posted May 5, 2024 I thought I'd invest in some reloading components and I noticed that LG Rifle Primers are in short supply / unavailable. I haven't shopped for primers in a couple years, so it blindsided me. Since typically if one brand is unavailable, another brand is in stock. It makes me think I should invest in some .308 brass with small primer pockets. Thanks for any input
Jeff300 Posted May 5, 2024 Report Posted May 5, 2024 For about a year and a half there wasn’t any primers. I wouldn’t get too impatient just yet and invest in the small rifle primer brass. I’m no expert nor do I have a crystal ball. But I believe it is just a shortage because of the conflicts over seas we are funding.
Armed Eye Doc Posted May 5, 2024 Report Posted May 5, 2024 I would think that the ongoing graft in the Ukraine and the Israel/Hamas conflict are likely taking the majority of the large rifle primers.
BeeKay Posted May 26, 2024 Author Report Posted May 26, 2024 There are some that are manufactured overseas that seem to be plentiful but expensive like almost everything. I'll save my USA made primers for serious reloading and practice with reloads using the imports.
