Need Glass! Suggestions?

I'm coming to the end of my 308 build and I'm going to need some glass to put on top of it! I plan on using it for deer hunting and bench shooting. Max range is going to be inside 500y, but I'd eventually like to hit 1K. I want a mil dot reticle, and something around the 4-16x range. I've been looking into the Millett TRS-1 but I've been seeing mixed reviews on them (more positive than negative) The scope I would really like is the Viper HS Tactical 5-15x44 that midway has (apparently exclusive to them http://www.midwayusa.com/product/183...-reticle-matte) The only catch is that its on backorder until August. I'm looking to spend less than $500.

What do you guys suggest?

I have the Millett in 6-25. It is not bad. When I built up my 308 I was also looking to stay in the $500 range. I have used it for up to 600. I am currently look to replace it with a Leupold Mark 4.
