M-14 thumbhole stocks, any interest?

First off, this thread IS NOT a sales offering. This thread is for the soul purpose of risk assessment.

I got my hands on some old Vietnam surplus M-14 stocks and am looking in to making some thumbhole stocks out of them.

Thing is, money is extremely tight right now and it's going to cost a pretty penny to make them. So I'd like to know if there's any market for them before I take any risks.

If I build them, they'll basically be the same thing as in this video tutorial (4 parts) but with a slightly more modern grip and forend and more durable rubber gripping.

I don't have the upper hand-guards, butt-plates, butt-plate screws or rear sling attachments but any standard M-1A should already come with this. All the metal innards except for the butt components are there.

If I make them, I will sell them for $150 each. I'm open to trading one of them, but I have to make at last $150 to at least get back what I put in and be at all worth the full week of work it's going to take to make em.

If there's any interest in these, let me know.

Maduce, your starting with GI fiberglass stocks, correct? Just out of curiosity, would it be feasable to make them pistol grip vs thumb hole? I'm thinking about something that resembles an M14 E2 stock, but out of fiberglass, or something like the Nigerian garrand stocks.

I start out with wood stocks. Watch the youtube video as it shows the process of making in detail.

Pistol grip stocks are easier then thumbhole.

TBH, I don't think much of the E2 stock configuration. Way too basic and seams they paid little attention to the handling.

If I do a pistol grip M-14 stock, it's probably going to be something like that thumbhole stock without the bottom brace.

For custom stock making, fiberglass is not the best choice of inner skeleton as it does not hold added stuff as well as a wood skeleton.
