Leupold Mark AR for 308

I was told that the Leupold Mark AR would be a good choice of a scope out to 300 yards. Almost of my shooting is less than 150 yards and most at 100 yards or less. I was also told that for $60 bucks I could order a BDC directly from Leupold.

I will be mainly hunting, shooting coke cans and rocks. This will be on a DPMS Sportical with a 16-inch barrel.

The cost of the setup right at $400 with tax. Is there a better option at this price?

Curiously which Mark AR? I believe theres four models. All of which would be suited to the ranges you mention. For 300 yard shots you might avoid the 1x-4x though.

The  custom shop will make custom bdc's and turrets. I have no idea of the cost

The scope I'm looking at is the 3-9X40mm T2
