unforgiven Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 The award turns 150 years old today.About 90 percent of the Congressional Medals of Honor have been awarded posthumously.Of the more than 40 million veterans who have served tis country since the beggening of the Civil War,only 3,456 have been awarded the metal.And almost half of those 1,522 were presented to Civil War veterans.Ordinary people doing extrordinary things.Extreme sacrifice,Never to be forgotten forever loved.To all our brothers and sisters that have served and continue to serve THANK YOU.
