draco41 Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 I am looking for some help here, I would like someone who has a LR-308 to measure the distance from the front pivot pin to the front edge of the fire control pocket. I have a blue print for an AR-10 (no not that stupid pencil drawing going around the net...lol) . I think that the FCG placement is different but not sure, that's why i need the help. Thanks for your helpDarin
imschur Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 I can do this tomorrow or Saturday at the latest
draco41 Posted January 10, 2010 Author Report Posted January 10, 2010 Did you happen to forget about me Imschur? ;D ;D
imschur Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Did you happen to forget about me Imschur? ;D ;D Nah I got tied up with with a side job. If the phones dont ring I should be able to do it tomorrow.
imschur Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 From the center of the front pivot to the beginning of the cutout is 4"
draco41 Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 hmmm, I guess it is different, the AR-10 measures 3.77". So everything I have read about the AR-10 upper fitting on a LR-308 lower has a new twist. If the pocket sits 1/4" farther back, then the hammer placement will also be off, and might affect firing pin strikes. Thanks for the info, might be worth mentioning in the FAQ.
imschur Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 maybe a better verification would be the pivot pin to the first trigger pin
