buc378 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 the reds and specks are starting to move here in louisiana.swimming from the gulf to the inland waters and its raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock.look out little fishies when the liquid sunshine quits. :banana:
buc378 Posted August 20, 2010 Author Report Posted August 20, 2010 specks are spotted sea trout and reds are red drum.they move inland to lay their young in bays a marshes .after they grow some2,3,4lbs the move out to the gulf.they are both good eating.many different ways to cook them.as far as size the best ones are from about 4lb to 9-10lbs.but the get way bigger.the big bull reds get big.personally my record is 34lbs.some people dont care for the bigger ones but,i like fish .big boys get put on the bbq pit.biggest speck is 17 lbs.they put up a good fight also.they are fun to catch.
