Reusing Barrel Nut

I am in the process of changing out the .920 barrel on my LR-308B  with a .750 Fulton Barrel and keeping free floating tube handguard.  What is the groups opinion on reusing the barrel nut, after I clean it up.  I just don't want to buy another handguard, just to get the barrelnut from DPMS

Barrel nut should be fine ,now the gas block, (if different size ) will need to be changed , but I'm sure you knew that.

Thanks for the info.  I ended up having to buy a longer tube anyway and I got a new nut with it.  I have a couple of .750 gas blocks from a 6.5 build and will use one of them.
