CaliberClark Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 I came to this website because i am tying with the idea of getting a 16" Rock River 308 I have never owned a 308 ar and am trying to find a reason to talk myself out of the purchase. Is the 308 rifle to big for cqc? Too big for tactical applications? Is Rock River a decent AR? I had a 223 RRA and it never gave me any troubles. I sold it for monetary reasons though. Anyway i know nothing about 308 ars and thought this was the place to turn to. Anyone got any pros cons or things to look for or steer away from? Thank you very much and glad to be on the forum!

Madhouse Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 First, Welcome!Re: RRA -- IMHO, RRA are top-quality rifles.I don't know if .308 is too big for CQB, but for home defense I would be weary because of how you'll penetrate walls.
CaliberClark Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 so are the lar 8 bad because of fal mags?
imschur Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 I dont think so. Whats the typical cost and availability of FAL mags today? I bought 20 or 30 back in 1993 for dollars a piece. CMMG has recently started producing lowers for FAL mags as well as HK G3 mags
