saym14
been lurking and searching for a chart or table to list all the parts, uppers, lowers etc that belong to the DPMS vs the AR 10 families. I am looking to build a AR308 and want to check out parts availability and interchangability. anyone have a link?
TacBlade
I believe imschur is working on that right now, here on this site. He will be around here later and let you know. In the meantime, you can just look around and see what you like and then determine what style you what to go with. This is what I did. I just am now finishing my first .308 build and I am loving it. Have a good one and don't hesitate to ask any questions. Their are some guys on here that are full of info for you. I may be able to help out a little...Have a good one!!! imschur
With so many manufacturers jumping in the 308 game It's no longer black and white DPMS vs AR-10. For parts availability and the best mags I believe DPMS is currently the best choice. Just don't buy a DPMS stripped upper. Go with Fulton Armory or somebody else. From what I hear Armalite parts availability is improving. Mags are limited and pricey. A good place to start for non Armalite AR-10 is Rainier Arms. saym14
thanks - I want to go with the broadest parts avaialbility and mag avaialalbility. I will probably just build the lower and buy a complete upper
imschur
FYI Im seeing DPMS uppers costing in the mid to $800 range. You might be able get a complete rifle for nearly the same cash. It's crazy.DPMS has been having some good factory direct sales but Ill bet their delivery time frame blows.
Grizzz
I was at a gun show in Roseburg a few weeks ago & bought a complete DPMS 308 new in box with FFHG for $965.00 out the door. 3/4 groups at 100yds. with a stock trigger that sucks. I was amazed. :)
