imschur Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 A while ago the little woman bought me a Shimano Core 50MG7 baitcasting reel. I bought a G.Loomis CR 722 to mate up with it. I am absolutely loving this combination as it's capable of casting line and lures not normally associated with baitcasters. The drag, brake and ergonomics are perfect. Friday I might try it on some trout and river smallies. An Amazon reviewer sums it up well Most reviews state that only the Daiwa Steez is slightly superior (and more expensive).
