Rifle length or mid length?

Well im new to the forum and new to the .308 ar world..... I have been doing alot of research but I cant find the answer.

Hers my question and I hope you can help....

I am looking at the DPMS SASS 18" barrel..  I see they also offer the lk-12 18" which is very similiar but it is a rifle length gas system. Is there that big of a difference as far as function and reliability? I want to go mid legnth because I like the gas block hidden....

Please give me your opnion...

I have not heard much on any difference?  I have the Mid-Length Gas system and I have had no problems!!! Also, Welcome to the forum, we like to see new faces!!!

Keep in mind the SASS barrel requires a special and over priced gas block

well thanks for the input so far.... I have another question to add, Is there any clearance issues for thr sass barrel and vtac handguard, due to the fact of the special sass gas block?
