  1. A few hundred here & there for parts doesn't seem like much at the time but can easily add up to way over $1,500 by the time you are done! ;D
  2. Is the barrel you have on there this one? http://www.fulton-armory.com/barrelfatitan185nmmedss1x10936gasblock.aspx If so that is a heck of a deal for a barrel that shoots that well!
  3. That is the combo I'm going with. If you check out Fulton's 308 spare parts kit you'll notice it comes w/ a bolt, so you could do that as well. I've also seen a few non chrome DPMS BCGs on gunbroker.
  4. Good to know, thanks for the info & tips to make sure it is function properly!
  5. So nothing to worry about & everything thing looks correct?
  6. Hello, Hopefully I will soon be assembling my upper and I have a few questions. I have a Mega Ma-Ten receiver set, a DPMS barrel nut, and an Apex handguard. I keep reading that you need to line up the barrel nut with the gas tube hole, but I do not see anything to line up. The barrel nut screws into the upper receiver, the gas tube slides into the upper receiver, and the handguard clamps over the barrel nut. Is this all correct or am I missing something? Here is a photo of the barrel nut on the receiver with the gas tube Here is a photo of the handguard clamp that goes over the barrel nut, it has an indented section that goes over the gas tube: Here is the handguard clamp sitting on the gas tube & barrel nut
  7. Haha, kind of odd, I also ordered my barrel from them on the 20th and I got it today also. Only thing is, they forgot the bolt! Of course I called them 3 min too late and they were closed. Now I have to wait until Monday to get a hold of them. I'll probably have to ship the barrel back to them so they can match it up to the bolt. Not super happy w/ them, ordered on the 20th, the guy on the phone & their site said it should only take one week. I called on the 1st and they said they would be shipping it that day, had to call again on the 6th and was told again it would ship that day, had to email two days later & ask for a tracking number, now they forgot to include the bolt! They did manage to remember to include the firing pin, retainer pin and cam pin that I also ordered. I would have much rather had them forget that instead of the bolt.
  8. Yesterday I noticed their price went up. Target Sports USA sells a 200rd pack for $199.90 w/ free shipping so depending on shipping from other places it might be a better deal for you. http://www.targetsportsusa.com/p-1163-federal-premium-gold-medal-308-winchester-168-grain-sierra-matchking-hollow-point-ammunition.aspx 10 boxes w/ shipping came out to $198.90 from PSA for me w/ their price increase. So they are both pretty close.
  9. Well that beats $24.50 + $14.53 S&H from Apex. I may have to give that a try, how do they hold up considering they are Polymer?
  10. Looking for an Apex handguard 2 inch accessory rail, link below to actual item. Please PM if you have one for sale. http://www.apexhandguard.com/store.php?seller=ApexMachiningCompany&navt1=19974&navt2=86324&pd=167795
  11. I have no personal experience w/ this but from what I have read you don't need as heavy of a buffer if you're running an adjustable gas block since you can tune the gas down. With the heavy buffer and the adjustable gas block I would think you just wouldn't need to limit the gas as much. Maybe someone w/ some actual experience w/ this can chime in?
  12. JP bolt goes w/ DPMS as stated in the original post. I was asking if anyone could suggest one of the mentioned bolt carriers over another, if one was better, any differences, etc. I called Young and they said they won't have any bolt carries for at least a month so it looks like I will be ordering one from Fulton as imschur suggested.
  13. I gave them a call the other day, guy on the phone was nice. Said no problems w/ the JP bolt but wasn't 100% sure about running it in the Mega upper. Pretty sure I've seen others mention running FA's bolt carrier in their Mega builds so I don't think there should be any issues w/ it.
  14. I am looking for a bolt carrier for my .308 build. It will be for a Mega MA-Ten receiver set w/ a JP enhanced bolt so it needs to be DPMS pattern/style which I believe everything in my list below is. Fulton Armory has one, are these made by DPMS or does Fulton Armory make their own? I've seen pictures of the Young Manufacturing bolt carrier, they look nice, I do not see them for sale anywhere, I'm guessing I need to call them for more info? I've read you have to use the standard AR-15 firing pin retainer pin with these? I've read about SI Defense making one, however I don't think I've seen one and their site appears to be down. Not sure about the JP low mass carrier as I have read it is meant to work w/ an adjustable gas system which I'm not interested in having to mess with. Am I leaving any out? Can anyone recommend one over the other? Aside from the JP low mass carrier are there any real differences between them or is one better than the other?
