just to clarify...HB is heavier barrel correct? The stainless steel shoots better?!? is that a cooling issue? Main reason why i didn't want stainless steel is because i hate "shinny" guns unless they're wall pieces lol

I know i'm going with the FA criterion 18.5 inch but still undecided if i should get the lighter chrome lined one or the slightly heavier one...all said and done with the black and threaded barrel it is only 15 dollars more for the lighter one but if it would increase the vibrations i'm not sure it'd be the right decision. Any thoughts?

just took a look at the compensator i intended on getting and it says it's a flash suppressor compensator...we can't have flash supressors in MA so i'm guessing that's out. Can anyone recommend a good compensator for reducing recoil? Having only shot .223 ar's which have almost no recoil, i'm expecting the .308 to be a decent amount more.

Wow that lower looks even better then it does on their website. That looks like it has a nice snug fit to that upper. Is that the A3 dpms upper or the standard?

o wow i love that socom! I almost did that instead of this...i was considering a socom or a beowulf AR but ammo expense and availability turned me away. Are you happy with the tm-10 lower? I just found a DPMS lower that is around the same price and was thinking of changing my order.

hahaha that is true. I just got a 1911 compact limited edition smith and wesson about 6 months ago and i love it. Triggers are awesome on them. I just wish they made one in double stack 10mm and i'd be happy.

haha after i'm done with med school i'm sure i'll have some to spare lol. That's another thing i have as a side project as well...getting the slide machined down for a red dot sight on my m and p. Handgun is probably more important but guns are like women, it's hard to pick one and stay with it haha

thanks a bunch for the info. After that comment and what i've heard so far i think building one from scratch is probably the way to go. Only reason i'm considering piston over DI is because this gun may be getting dirty and i may add a suppressor in the future. What kind of yardage are you shooting at with the new barrel and what groupings? Just seeing what i should expect with a little practice.

trigger was just a gold one that was listed on brownells...used that more for a money reference then a trigger i would actually put in the gun.

great! thanks a lot i appreciate that. I'm just browsing midway usa and dpms right now and im around $1600 with everything that i can think of needing (i'm sure i missed something though; at least little springs and stuff like that. Can we have adjustable cheek rests on the stock in MA or is that considered a collapsible stock?

thanks for the clearup! yea i agree that's why i figured i'd post everything i'm considering and doing to get feedback because a lot of people that post don't know their ass from their elbow and may of not even owned a gun themselves. RRA may be hard then because if i do buy one put together i intend on slowly changing some stuff out. I'll have to keep an eye out for those mk3 lowers. I'm honestly not 100% sure if i'm building or buying off the shelf yet.

only thing is i've heard rock river isn't that great and do the CMMG and armalite lowers take that g3 make everyone hates?
