Colo Spgs- Hey does anyone know a GOOD AR smith, Where do you all shoot, Colo really needs ranges they keep shutting them down and jerks are making a mess out NF soon it will be shut down. Maybe convert a couple of golf courses

All I can find are 9 rnd and they were 25.00 for factory

Also Im from Colo Spgs, My trigger job was done by Bill Springfield, He did a good job on mine. However I dont know of an AR smith here has anybody heard of one. Thanks

OK another can of worms, I did pick out some things I think I would like, First off I want a 12" hand gaurd ffom Troy I have older model with raised flat top. I want HG rail to be same height as this. Will I need low profile gas block, Also want get over size houge grip and Heavy buffer and spring, Mag pul I think butt stock. Are these changes I can make and if so what do I need for tools. Is there a good video for this, Thanks in advance

Thank's I feel alot better about my rifle like I said it has never failed, well when I first bought it I wasnt giving it enough lube, but after that issue its been great, I will go ahead and do to it what I want and quit asking shops to do it. And its true nobody seem's to work on them, they would rather sell you another one. I haven't quit look's like I just started. THANK'S

I guess after thinking about it and hearing what all of you say, Youre right their just trying to sell me on the fact I need to purchase another weapon. What is it I can do to make sure this rifle is in the best shape it can be. What should I look for or change. Ive done a trigger job on it other than that it works good out to 200yds which is all the range has. Things I would like to change the bigest complaint I have is the carbine length forearm its to short with bipod installed, maybe quad rail upfront the same height as flat top and adjustable mag pul stock and thats it. Other than the mechanic's issue if there really is any

I have no issues with my rifle it shoots what ever I put through it good stuff cheap stuff hand loads I guess what started this is I asked what I should have on hand in a shtf situation and need replacement parts or what I could have a smith do now to prevent future problems. I was then told how cheap and unreliable DPMS was and not being a battle proven weapon not somthing you would want to bet your life on. Anywhere from triggers or springs breaking to gas blocks coming loose, gas tubes getting pluged, bolts breaking etc, This scares the crap out of me if Im depending on it. Actually its quite accurate and does not jam but I havent put 3000 rnds through it in a weekend either.

I have a DPMS 308T, There are some things I would like to get done to it, but when I go to lgs instead they want me to upgrade to a more trustworthy rifle as mine isnt worth trusting your life with and if Im serious I need to go another route, so what else is there without spending 3000.00 Ive looked at RRA cant see any difference for the money

OK so nobody makes a decent AR Type rifle except Colt, Larue, LMT, Scar, Bravo etc. And you cant get your hands on them and when you do its around the 3000. dollar mark when your talkin 30cal. So what is the guy who cant spend 3000 supposed to do to get a 1/2 way decent rifle to bet his life on

I thought in reading different articles about 7.62 or 308 that in order to get the most out that round an 18" barrel was optimal. Why then would colt go 16" is this just for ease of carry or do you think they will make 18 or 20 later?

Bill did the trigger work on my DPMS 308 it is really smooth another local guy wanted over 200.00 to put in another trigger. Glad I went with Bill ar 15 is next

I have had time with springfield, Fl, dpms, armalite my friends all have different 308 variants take good care of your weapon and it will take care of you, I have a real close friend who money is not an object,but and this is not to put him down, he does not take the best care of his equipment and there for he has problems with the best of the best. He just laid out 7000.00 on new rifles and didnt blink an eye. I was just saying axle grease worked for me and this isnt grade school dont be so negative to someone asking a question or seeking help. Yes there are right ways and wrong but you learn that in time not by being put in your place for asking for help in the end can you shoot is the question and how do you take care of your weapon. If I paid 3000 for a rifle I would hope its better than The one I paid a 1000 for if not I was a fool. But money isnt everything nor is a name

use high speed axle grease and it will fuction much better as for the ar-10 crap who really cares their just peed off they spent more money than you my dpms out shoots most other brands and it does not jam either so to say its not as superior as their armalites is total bull call it what you want

Have a question, was at a gun show and going to purchase pmag for 308 dealer advised me that pmags for 308 will break if dropped and new pmags for ar-15 have reported melting under rapid fire I was wondering if anybody else heard of trouble with pmags especially in 308.
