While not a helmet mounted version, I picked up one of the nv monocular for a good price a while back. It was a neat toy and surprised me how well it worked in a dark building. It still worked good outside with additional IR light. I tried using it through an EOTech on nv mode, it did work however I don't see a way to shoot a gun using it. That said the more advanced ones are very impressive.

This is the lighter of the two. Never weighed it but it is not marked XH. Only marking is CAR 10.

Despite advertising to the contrary this will not function with a LR308 and UBR stock. Like new condition. Also includes the buffer spring. Looking for a USPS money order as I don't have paypal. E-mail for pictures. Price reduced to $90 shipped. ETA: THIS HAS BEEN SOLD

It would appear that clint aka slash refuses to stand behind his product when it doesn't work as promised. It was his suggestion (both in e-mailed conversation as well as his advertising) that his car10 buffer and spring would work with a magpul UBR stock. However after experiencing failure to chamber on every round, when I contacted him about it he passed blame to the company that built the upper receiver. After sending the upper back they tested it and determined that it functioned properly. They returned it back to me (at no charge). They recommended that the problem lies with the buffer/spring combination. I removed slash's buffer and spring and installed the original. The rifle ran flawlessly. Re-installed slash's buffer, failures after every round. I contacted clint w/ heavy buffers and was told that I could return it for 80% of the price minus shipping and that the spring I purchased through him per his recommendation is un-returnable as well. Unless it was within 10 days of purchase, which had already passed after sending the upper off to be looked at. This is some piss-poor customer service in my opinion. I would expect better from an advertiser on this site.

The real hard part will be convincing her to leave after you've been here.

General rule of thumb is 1x per 100yds, granted this won't give you the same performance as say 20x at 50yds, however it will get you hits at decent speed. What are your requirements? Will this only be used for shooting at targets? If so a high magnification will be more beneficial than a lower setting used for hunting. Personally I would steer far far away from the cheap chinese scopes listed in your OP. For a great value, you can get a Leupold or Nikon lower mid range optic for under $300. This will give you a 3-9x suitable for hunting/plinking up to 7-800ys. For about the same amount a fixed 10x SS can be had that will give you great performance out to the same ranges however it will take you longer to acquire targets and would be about worthless for hunting applications. You could opt for the lower end of Leupold/Nikon/Bushnell/Millet for around $100-$200 and while not as good might serve you well. Also bear in mind the cost of a quality mount (ADM/Bobro/GG&G) will run you up to $200 or so. If that is out of the price range, use a quality set of rings instead of a cheap mount. In my opinion any of the scopes you listed will not repeatedly hit the ranges you are looking for, the cheap off-name scopes will lose zero under the 308 load if they are even able to be used effectively at the distance to begin with. It costs money to shoot between the 500 and 1000yd marks accurately and repeatedly. It's just the way it is.

Most Accurate .308, 7.62x51 Factory Ammunition in Your AR Rifle
Timing replied to imschur's topic in Ammunition
Federal fusion 150gr seemed to perform the best, followed by 168gr federal ggm and 165gr federal smk. This is a 16" 1in10" twist. Winchester 150/180 power point and Remington 150 umc did the worst. These were 10 shot groups fired at 100yds. -
Got out yesterday for some 308 shooting. First time since adding the ssa-e and a few other things. Brought about 8 different types of hunting/match ammo to see how it groups. 100 yards on sandbags, leupold 3-9 scope on 7x (too little eye relief on 8x or 9x) 4mph cross wind for most the time, no gust over 10mph, settled down a bit towards the end. 10 shots fairly rapid (as fast as I could re-acquire sight picture, wasn't trying to shoot fast or slow) of each type at 1 target. Shoot ten, change the target, shoot ten of the next type, etc. No scope adjustments between shots or groups. At least the "life" isn't under the glock logo.

Why do you have a sticker that says cock?

I believe I read somewhere that the demand of 308pmags doesn't justify the cost of creating additional colors. Maybe this could change now that the sr25 mag is becoming the standard.

I put one of their mini red dots on a 7.62x39 AK, it has held zero after 1000rds and has the original battery in it, still working over a year later (not constantly on).

While I am sure Larue's mounts are quality, I can't stand the arrogance of the owner or the mentality of his supporters. Therefore I choose to spend my money elsewhere. GG&G makes excellent products and I own quite a few of them and recommend them often. I have never owned one of their scope mounts, however their eotech mounts are the best thing out there and I have owned several, I am sure their scope mounts are just as good. Their customer service is excellent if you ever have to use it. They do charge a high price for shipping though, and use that to make their prices look lower. My first scope mount decision came down to ADM or Bobro. I chose ADM over Bobro strictly based on customer service. The owner of ADM answered any and all of my questions immediately, was friendly, helpful, and made sure that I was going to be satisfied with my purchase. I was, and now look nowhere else for any optic mount. Another bonus of the ADM platform is the ability to swap the scope ring sizes as well, allowing the flexibility of using one mount for any size scope. While I am sure I would have been just as satisfied with a Bobro or GG&G mount, the ADM mounts accomplish what I need, while also supporting a business that treated me well as a customer. Until an ADM mount fails me or the company stops standing behind their product, I will continue to praise their company and products and use them whenever possible. I currently own multiple mounts, and have bought several more for others as well.

Good choice, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
