  1. I've read a lot of good thing on both H4895 and IMR4895, and from what I've gathered so far Reloader 15 seems to be good with both accuracy and velocity. I've got a bunch ready to test...from(RL-15) 40.75 to 42.2 gr. I'm using mil-surp brass so I'm starting lower (as advised) Thanks for the reply.
  2. Here's what I have to work with so far, any dope on pet loads that I can work up to using the mentioned components (or close) would be appreciated. Armalite 308 with Rock 5R 18.5" barrel, match chamber, rifle length gas. LC brass, 210 primers, smk 168 and hornady 168a-max IMR 4895, RL-15, Varget. I'll take loads for the 175smk as well but don't have the bullets yet. Have you got a similar rifle? What load works best for you. Thanks
  3. Hey Syrac where's my commission;) ? Better yet, where's that .875 block coming out?
  4. My bad, I was assuming you built your rifle. Good luck finding just what you need. It can be frustrating at times.
  5. I see. Pray tell, why a hand guard with no accessory slots? The benefits of an adjustable gas block would be for shooting off a bipod, suppressed...sniping etc. That's a sweet looking handguard but looks more "racey" as in, full throttle to the 100yd or less battle rifle.
  6. Which tube are you using?
  7. Anyone topped their armalite flattop with Viper? Did you need a cantilevered or extended mount for eye relief? I'm using a magpu PRS stock and I think I've settled on the Bobro. Just wondering about eye relief though.
  8. What size is your gas journal? .750? If so check out Syrac Ordnance. http://www.syracordnance.com/collections/all
  9. The backplates from JP rifles fit APEX hand guards like they were a custom marry. I have a rifle length APEX and used the QD sling stud backer plate to attach my Harris bipod. Fit like a rite size glove. http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPHGS
  10. That Ph5 v2 looks like it incorporates the bolt catch and lever as one piece. Armalite has modified their bolt catches to work with Gen2 mags, am I viewing that pic wrong or is that v2 one piece, and if so will it work with the Armalite Gen2 Mag? http://www.armalite.com/images/Tech%20Notes/TECH%20NOTE%2071%20%20AR-10%20Magazines%20090603%20Rev%200%20Final.pdf Im guessing no.
  11. http://yhm.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14_18&products_id=308 This sound suppressor is designed so that it can be used with a Phantom 5.56 mm flash hider on a 5.56 mm rifle. This allows users to purchase one sound suppressor and use it on .30 caliber and 5.56 mm rifles. As a measure of safety the 5.56 sound suppressor WILL NOT fit onto a 7.62 flash hider/brake
  12. nice looking block.
  13. What brand is that block?
  14. ...handguard just wasn't complete without that top rail.
  15. a closer view
  16. Noveske switchblock in a slightly modified Troy MRF.
  17. I have a switchblock on my 5.56. But on my AR10, which is a a SASS type build, I wanted a fuller range of adjustability and fine tuning. What I didn't want was loc tite and small screws. Originally I had planned to use the Armalite adjustable gas block. So I had my barrel turned for a gas journal of .875, not the typical .750. Enter Syrac Ordnance. Leave your loc-tite at home boys. http://www.syracordnance.com/collections/all/gas-blocks I'm waiting for them to unveil the .875 model, said to be in developement and ready for sale soon. (take a number and get in line)
  18. Many thanks, and thanks for the site where we can virtually "try before buy".
  19. Stock AR Upper/Lower/BCG, attached to a custom Mike Rock 18.5" Fluted Heavy Barrel, YHM Phantom Brake(suppressor-ready) Apex Handguard, Harris Bipod, MagpulPRS, HougeGrip,PRIGasBuster Charging Handle, and a Geissele SSA-E fire control. On the way to top it is a Vortex PST 6-24x50ffp. The barrel was such a work of art, I hated to tube it. As it turned out the section just forward of the Larue gas block shows off just enough to make one curious ;) Its awaiting a YHM Titanium Suppressor and Syrac Ordnance Adjustable Gas Block.
  20. I installed the YHM phantom brake on my ar10. It will accept the 7.62 phantom suppressor. I also have the phantom flash hider on my 5.56.And the bennie there are that it will accept the 7.62 suppressor as well. One suppresor two calibers/guns.
  21. THankful I live in a top5 state...KENTUCKY!
