The lr10 is 32.5oz! Holy poop. Might as well bring a lazy boy to rest my gun on.

Does anyone have experience with this bipod? I saw it on Rainier Arms and it looks like a wannabe atlas. It's a bit heavier. The design looks as if they added material to not look like the atlas and in doing so it adds weight. Just wondering. I have an atlas from 2013. I was told the new atlas has little to no front to back wobble. I'm not a fan of the wobble.

Bump... $225. Price drop

I'm building my brother a 308 and had questions for atlas. Called them and asked about ordering the QD lever for mine. I was also wondering about the "play" in the legs.....what people use to "load" the bipod. He said that they make it so there is no play anymore. He said some people loved it and some hated it. In the videos that seemed like one of its selling points as if it was suppose to be like that. I asked why they would get rid of it. He said they are constantly improving. Whatever.... I like mine, not sure I like the play...I'd like to shoot the new version. I bought mine around April of 2013. I guess the changes were made in early 2014. I need the QD because I want to swap it to other rifles fast. I'm going to buy the newest QD one and prob just sell my 2 screw one. If anyone here has the newest version....can you chime in with your input please....thanks!

Fortis SWITCH - The Game Changer of Rail Systems?
medic83 replied to BLKSHEEP's topic in .308AR Parts
i ordered one for a 223 build. I have had an Adams Arms XLP piston kit with low mass carrier sitting around and the rail i had for the build would not work with it. AA calls for a "standard barrel nut" or one of equal length. I was on the phone with Rainier the other day and they confirmed that it would fit...I was on hold while he called FORTIS to be sure. Although there are plenty out there that fit it, I decided on this one. I was originally like...WTF is the point?? Plus I wasnt a big fan of the Fortis look. Well for this piston kit, the gas block has an adjustment knob to adjust the gas. You can rotate it all the way and push the button and pull out the port for cleaning. I guess with other piston systems you can completely remove the op rod that way. with this one you cant. So, I thought this "switch" lever i could gain quick access to the oprod for service or malfunction check. So, mine should be waiting for me when i get home from work in a few days. I went with the 14 -

So I've decided to sell this handguard because I have 3 builds that have this free float tube. I just wanted to change some things up. This thing is very nice. Apex is in my top 5 favorites for sure. Very rigid even in the extra long 15" tube. The rails are super nice. They are curved at the mounting surface to sit flush with handguard. This is a very pricey setup unfortunately but well worth it. I have one on an ar15 and don't use any sort of afg, vfg, or hand stop on the handguard because the "Gator Grip" is an awesome grip. Lots of options with this handguard. this thing is very lightweight as well. I also have a 2" rail section for my bi-pod that I might be selling as well. For now just the handguard and full length top rail.

Paypal for payment.... Also, this uses reg barrel nut. Love this handguard, I have it on other builds as well

Lightly used. In great condition. Small nick on bottom and clamp. I also have the full length top rail. This is DPMS tall rail height. Retail is 255$ for handguard and 55$ for rail. 260$ for both

I don't see how this can work with a bullet button. Best looking set out there. Seekins, then rainier. Still, not true ambi though. I don't like the proprietary lpk u would have to have. I don't like hoe the others do away with forward assist. I have used mine on the 308 and 223. New mags loaded to capacity or reloads not resized enough. Regardless....I want the forward assist. I love my SI sets

On my ar 308, I use the precision armament MB/comp. It alone with the rifle length gas system, heavy buffer make it amazing to shoot all day. Very soft, easy to keep on target. On one of my ar's I just built...I put the Ferfrans CRD on it, looks bad ass. It really does what it says. U can pop it off and the MB works better. You can actually tell. With the shroud on....shooting at night is insane! I was almost blinded looking thru my aimpoint! Lol. My buddy snapped some pics and got a slo mo vid. I'll try and post them... I only have my iPad so I don't know how to post them. It wouldn't let me upload the vid. Maybe the link will work https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10206477113953637

I think I'm gonna stick with the 175g. I measure off the ogive with the bullet comparator, but Its 2.82 for OAL And they feed great. I'm gonna chrono some other loads to see if I can get more speed. I want to keep the accuracy and go as fast as I can to stay super sonic as long as possible. I know the heavier projectiles will stabilize better but I think I can get over 2600 fps and still drive tacks. I'll keep you guys posted. I went with a magneto speed gen3 for the chrono. It's really nice. Seems to be spot on and not affected like other chronos by light and stuff. Very easy to set up....and u won't shoot it

Update on the rifle.... Me and my buddy's have been shooting long range now for almost a year. I am shooting the 308ar and they have Rem 700's. I shoot my own hand loads, we went out last week and I bought more steel. We do unknown distance... Our two furthest targets were at 1040 yards and then 1210 yards. The 1050 was a 15" x 9". And the other was a 24 x 24". The rife performed very well. We were dealing with a lot of wind at times and I was actually shooting my lighter 175 g load. I was avg 2529 fps. With imr 4064. I'm very happy with the rifle. We're going back next week. My goal is to reach out to 1500 yards. Love this gun!

I read that fgmm used 175 sierra hpbt with 4064 loaded at 41.75 g. 2.80 COL. I have had great success out to 750 yards with those as I load mine to those specs. I'm shooting ar 308, 18.5 barrel 1:10 twist. I notice I'm going up about .3-.4 mils more than my buddy with a bolt gun 20" barrel 1:10 twist. He's shooting factory fgmm 175. Should I go up to 42. Gr???
