  1. Besides the lantac and bcm brake any other good choices weight wise?
  2. Well put guys, thank you. Most of these 14.5lw barrels seem to way just as much as the 16lw barrels. I may get the faxon and get it chopped to 14.5 for more weight savings, or would that add ore to the cost that could be used elsewhere? Another question is, sense the md needs to be pinned does that mean you generally have to buy the gas block and gas tube from that same company so that they can install it for you before it's pinned?
  3. Excellent point brother 98, does that 1.5" diffrent make a huge impact in your maneuverability? You are a wealth of knowledge kind sir.
  4. But with a muzzle device pinned to make it 16 " wouldn't it be the same?
  5. What would you say the advantage over the 16" is?
  6. As always you make good point. Here in calif Barrel must be 16" long or 14.5 with something pinned to make it 16" long. Purpose of this rifle realistically shooting paper Or if I ever bug out into the wilderness(lol) some thinking I can throw on a sling and not be bothered by it. A fun gun I suppose that I can shoot for cheap and splurge with some rapid fire un like my 308 that I use for 800 meter shooting. This rifle will be for short range I suppose max distance maybe 300 thats pushing it. 25-100 yards is most likely for this rifle. I plan on getting a reflex sight sort of optic for it.
  7. As soon as some funds open up I'll pick one up :) and yeah I don't think the the 14.5 weighs that much les mYne 1 oz or 2 less potentially I'll have to check. I guess if I wanted to try diffrent muzzle devices I'd have to go to a gun smith which would be a pain. I'm all up for a shorter barrel but having to get something longer to make it me compliance kinda makes them a moot point I think
  8. Thanks for the info guys, would it actually be worth going with the 14.5 vs 16? Anyone heard of faxon barrels? Their 16" goes for 150 ish and weighs 1.19lbs for their lightweight barrel.
  9. Yeah I seen his video. That's a lot of brass.
  10. So this is my build so far. Something I had on the back burner and still kind of is. I got some parts for it on cyber money. Stock, lpk, upk. So fsr weighs 2.6 pounds. And reccomendations on pencil barrels? Are they worth it? Not gonna be full auto just shooting paper and what ever else soda cans what ever. Trying to keep her light. Suggestions on handguards also needed. Thanks guys Parts so far stag upper rba upk phase 5 lower rba lpk bcm carbine tube bcm h buffer magpul moe plus grip mft batttlelink stock
  11. Thinking of using a 3.5 gallon bucket or a 5 gallon bucket how much brass do you wrecking I can tumble in that? Including the ss media and water?
  12. My own stainless media tumbler. I'm to impatient to use my small harbor freight one so as soon as I'm done building this I will return the other one and get my money back. Here's where I am now I acquired the motor. Next step is the build a stand for it. Stay tuned
  13. Midway has these for 133 pus free shipping. Use the coupon for 20 off. I'm debating to get these or ar parts. Thought I'd share
  14. Good options, I'll see if I can find a cheap plug in drill. Just like the thought of not holding a dri lol
  15. Hello all with harbor freight always having 20% off coupons. Would a cheap 60 buck drill press be ok for trimming brass? I'll be using a wft trimmer so I just need it to spin. Upside is I don't have to hold the drill just put brass in trimmer. Down side cost more then a cheap drill. A drill has more uses around the house, but I'd be getting a corded drill. Opinions?
  16. I just think it's best to do my load development on how I'm planning on shooting the rifle. I believe it will be more accurate in the way that I'll find the load the works best for my rifle and how I'm shooting. Maybe I'm wrong? How do ypu shoot prone with out a pod? Bag?
  17. I just need to invest in a sling. Any reccomendations
  18. Geissele ssae
  19. I'm ok with not perfect. I'm after decent grouping and not all in one hole. The ks for the advice though which makes sense. If shtf and people are getting sent to fema camps, I don't want to have to care a huge rifle rest when I bug out into the wilderness. I don't want scoliosis.
  20. Just need to load up or buy bunch of ammo and a sling for appleseed class
  21. 100 yards, I know it's not the best but I'm trying lol
  22. Here is an update, 15 yards. I feel alot more confident with most my shots being in the 9 rings.
  23. So here is my shooting today with some varget, hornady brass and 210m primers. The more I shoot and now with properly shouldering the rifle I feel way more confident and picking up my mistakes is much easier. Still need to by a good rear bag other then that u felt today went good. Even tho its not the best grouping. Don't think I put the pictures in the right order but they have the loads written on them
  24. Lmao
