Geissele Hi Speed DMR

Does anyone have a DMR in their MKM? My trigger tail sits so far back I don't see how any safety will clear the trigger tail. Elftmann push button doesn't even come close to clearing. Got a guy at work that is going to trade me a standard ambi safety on Monday so I will try then, but don't see how it can work.

Mine is .135 and the taper on yours are much steeper than mine.

Mine has a little taper, just won't crush.

I don't doubt his work. The way my luck has been going it would get lost by the mail carrier.

I read somewhere where sanding might help. I ordered some shims from Brownell's so will be gtg soon.

Yes, I sanded on it. It is a crush washer, but I can't even get it to crush. I put it in a c clamp even and couldn't budge it and I know that was well over 30 ft lbs. Going to order.some shims. Done fighting with it. Good news is I got the trigger adjusted to where I wanted it.

It is almost a full turn. I sanded in increments. I was only able to get it turn by a very little bit. The instructions say not to exceed 30 ft lbs I believe. No way in hell I could get it to line up and not exceed that by a wide margin. If it was at 10 o'clock then it would probably go, but it is at 2 o'clock and a long ways off.

I could crush it flat and it still probably wouldn't line up. Going to have to get some shims I guess. The top ports (Cooley brake) are at about the 2 o'clock position. Long ways off.

Well my string of bad luck continues. My brake came today and it won't align with the crushwasher. I sanded on the washer until my arms gave out and it only moved maybe 3 degrees. Looks like it I have to get some peel washers.

Yes they are and an additional $45 for a test target with the barrel. Ouch

I was just on Larue's website a minute ago and noticed they were selling barrels. When did they start that? I must be behind the times as I thought they wouldn't sell just a barrel.

I wanted this because I have never been a fan of the ar style safety. the tail of my trigger is long and it hits the cross bar of the safety. If it was flattened on one side like a normal safety it would work probably. Bummer.

Well if it ain't one thing it's another. Got the trigger installed a little while ago, but my Elf push button safety won't work with it. Damn the bad luck. Still have some more adjustments to do on the trigger to get it to break like I want it to.

Gas block wasn't bad. Completely stupid mistake I made installing it. All good now.

I might have a little setback on my hands. My Syrac adjustable doesn't seem to be operating correctly. It is supposed to have audible firm clicks and mine does not. It turns way too easy and it is difficult to just get a single click. It wants to turn 2 or 3 with very little effort. I sent them an email to see if it may be bad. This is just my luck so I expected a setback or two. Oh well, trigger isnt here yet anyway. Should be midweek though.

Thank you. I did 10 years in the Air Force and those 10 years really changed my life. I wouldn't be where I am today hadn't it been for the military. I didn't care for the three deployments I went on, but the one I have great memories of is the Iraq one when I deployed in support of the BRO. Those Army cats really ain't that bad...lol.

I know this is an old thread and maybe this is old news, but Mega makes their own barrels. I got an email from them today that states that.

I bought the Geissele Hi Speed DMR. Botach had them on sale for $239 and free shipping. I know it isn't single stage, but I thought back on how I loved the 2 stage trigger on the Sako TRG 42 I had a couple years ago. Now if my brake would ever get off back order I'll be set with only scope remaining to be purchased.
