  1. True warriors and a true leader to voice it.
  2. Hoo-yah
  3. Hello Malig8r and Wash. Yes this is a great meat gathering tool. Here is a picture of it just waking up in the morning...
  4. Hello Mongoose and welcome from Virginia
  5. Tis indeed a sad day, we pet lovers face this decade after decade yet we never give up. I wish you peace in this time of sorrow and a good memory of all your fun times with her.
  6. Thank you all for this warm welcome. I have always appreciated a strong forum community no matter the topic.
  7. I chose it years ago when the 6.8 vs 6.5 comparison was in full swing. I know my own limits and with unaided vision, 300 meters is it for me as my eyes get older. The 6.8SPC has identical trajectory as the 5.56 and is dead on up to 300M. We fit nicely together and the rest is history. Evidently the 6.5 Grendel won that argument though, but for me, I am happy with the SPC. With hat said, I and my youngest son (19) are looking to buy something in 308 this year.
  8. I have just joined the forum and wanted to stop in on this thread as I am the swimmer. I am a retired Navy Rescue Swimmer with a few years added and a few broken bits but still able to do something. The Fitch Foundation is an ALL generation Veteran assist group. They help any vet, any disability get back into something athletic regardless of when they became disabled. In their B-Bold project, they help vets and civilians who have prosthetics get back into sports. The idea is to get folks active once more which goes a long way to reduce the risk of suicide. I have lost four buddies in the last 2 years to suicide and know 3 others (2 in my family) who were, thankfully, not successful. If any of you are in Virginia this coming July, my first public swim will be from Tim's Rivershore Restaurant in Dumfries to Tim's II in Fairview Beach, VA; 17 miles away. There is a party the night before in Dumfries with a pier-side sleep over, swim at 0900 and a party afterwards at Tim's II.
  9. Hello folks, I am a retired sailor and working just south of DC. I love my motorcycles and my weapons. For firearms, I currently carry the XD-45 in desert colors and the XM-15 in 6.8SPC when overseas (or around town). Planeflyer21 told me about this forum and posted about my swim to bring awareness to veteran suicides, and because I have a long history with 308/7.62, I decided to join your happy throng and see what I have been missing. Stay safe out there, and always be ready... Boog
