Lane has hooked me up, gauge should be here end of the week-ish. I'm sure I'll have questions at that point. -

I'm pretty sold on the G43, but unfort just learned that it is not on the CA pistol roster which eliminates it for CCW no matter how I acquire it... ffs... -

That's a great setup, trying to determine if I'm going to stick with 9mm or not. Range near me demo's pistols, so I can try a few, next week -

Lol, yea, I thought about that as I typed it out. But next build is a -15 for the girl. I vascilate between wanting to build the entire thing every step of the way myself and making all the learning mistakes, and making sure the most important thing on the rifle is done right and that the assy gets a look over by a gunsmith with much more experience than myself. So I think this, in some way, is an attempt to do both - do it myself without the purchase costs of something I'll use 1x and then have a pro check my work when I think I've got it correct to be sure In other good news, my CCW was approved yesterday. On the hunt for something that carries better than a G17 as my reward -
rest of my shite hit this week, loose assembled everything, looks amazing and all makes more sense now. might still have a prob with the fitment between the poly lower and the Aero upper but we'll see once I get it all together if I really have a problem

jesus, over a year without an update. quickly: I ordered the Aero BCG last November just to be sure of the fit with the stripped Aero upper I bought to replace my AR10 upper mistake. I was then able to confirm that it fits the same as the DWilson BCG I was concerned about the fit on earlier in this thread, Aero has FA, DW does not. Keep one, sell the other Aero charging handle and Aero ejection port cover came later that same month. These have been in for awhile now. This May I ordered the Magpul Commercial-Spec CTR, $45 through Buds Still have to get the 80% lower into the jig and get it milled out to finish out the back end of the rifle, but what I have is all loose fit and sitting on my desk to remind me to get it done. Ordered the rest of the parts yesterday, first part through Brownells: Faxon 10A810M16NPQ 16" pencil barrel, $225 Superlative Arms SABODI750SS- AR-15 ADJUSTABLE GAS BLOCK .750" SOLID, $89 DPMS F1000377 mid length gas tube, $19 Smith Enterprise 1005SS - AR .308 Muzzle Brake 30 Caliber, $109 Shipping $4 Order total was $447 Through Granite Ridge: Aero Precision M5 (.308) Enhanced M-LOK Handguard - Gen 2, 12" with Aero/DPMS threaded barrel nut, $159 w/free shipping Order total was $159 I *think* that a mag is the only thing left to get on order, not sure why I didn't get it handled yesterday. Everything should be in next week, then get the fun of test fitting everything and milling and drilling the lower and seeing it all put together. Side note, decided to apply for CCW permit, the class through the sheriffs office happens next month, I'm in a friendly CA county, whoda known such a thing existed...

all good, and he wouldn't be far off base if he was.

we all start somewhere, some of us are "hard learners" as well
-
stop it, you are making me hopeful ! y, the DWilson BCG - in my excitement I grabbed the BCG and slid it into the bare upper (baby...) No barrel

not a slifle? -
its really sloppy as is, I can rattle it back and forth in the upper eta: "AR10 Bolt carrier Group Coating: Black Nitride - Blem" AR10 bolt is diff sized?? lol, of course it will be... <sigh> I'll have a deal for someone on an AR10 bolt...

Aero upper just arrived, a much better fit that the image on the first post here. Still some gap above the rear take down, I'll post a photo of the combo "soon" Question this time is - how tight/loose should the BCG be in the upper?
-
The Bullet Button Patriot and the ARMAGLOCK are basically the same product, looks like the ARMAGLOCK already has the enhanded rear take down pin though. The DFM seems odd, if I'm going to go through all that work to break the upper and lower then I'd rather run regular magazines vs taking a one-off mag out through the top - makes the gun legal but an odd solution to me.

I'd think maybe you'd want to pull the trigger a few times and put something down range to understand exactly what you have prior to considering making changes. Glass is always a good thing so maybe start there if you *must* spend money, but not sure if 4-500 will get you what you state you are after

reply from BB: yes our AR10 Patriot will fit your DPMS 308
-
partial reply from my email to BB about the same questions above, but only addressed the rear take down pin: Hello, We are in the process of making a takedown pin for the AR10. It should be in a month or so. Thank you, Cheryl Prince www.BulletButton.com

I'm going to wait till the upper gets here before ordering the hand guard, shows its on a USPS truck heading north out of LA so hoping it will be here before the weekend. I decided, beings that I'm in CA, that I'm going to add the bullet button to my build to keep it from having the "evil features" that would require it to be registered as an assault weapon here. The bullet button website mentions AR10 but not DPMS, and after the sting of having to take a small hair cut on the AR10 upper that Barrett ended up buying off me yesterday that I need confirmation on the right part especially since their "no returns!" policy is front and center on their website. I'm after a Patriot button and an extended rear take down pin to make it easy to break the upper The AR10 bullet button: http://www.bulletbutton.com/bullet-buttons-for-sale-ar15-ak47-ar10-rifle-ca-legal-san-diego/ *NEW* AR-10 Patriot Mag Release *NEW* PATRIOT MAG RELEASE FOR AR-10 PLATFORM RIFLES. ** NOTICE - FOR AR-10 (.308 WIN. / 7.62X51MM NATO) PLATFORMS ONLY! ** The AR15 pin: So that looks to be the correct button, but the description is throwing me a bit with my newfound hyper-vigilance yet nothing else seems to apply. But there is no 308 extended rear takedown pin offered - is AR15 the same size? Worst case I can prob have my bud who has a lathe turn one up for me So, getting to the actual point - Is this the bullet-button part I want?

California peeps is this for real?
MikeD replied to beantown's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
the first link really shows the disconnect, its all emotional "feelz before realz" stuff to make the public think that something of value is happening, when instead its all just pandering to the low information voters who get their news from MSM eta: personally I'm going with the bullet button and extended rear take down pin to be able to keep all the other "features" in play. if the SHTF happens then I can quickly put the gun back into full service mode with little effort, I'll deal with the potential felony issues afterwards
