  1. There may be some car repairs lined up for my AR in the future. I forgot about the old phones hinding somewhere. There's a few that I hated. Thanks for the reminder 98Z5V.

    Taboo talk?

Well, it would be a bit off topic, but we could discuss cereal toppings or poetry. I had some questions, but got them answered with a search.
  3. Starting this up since the other thread is locked and I didn't see another one for this topic. Long backstory of these pics from last week and today. From new, this crescent wrench never really worked. Always needed two hands to open or close it, most of the time needing to tap on the head to wiggle it into position. Then when you use them and remove them to reposition, the jaws close up just enough on their own to not go back on without readjusting them. I have nicer ones that I use for work, so i never bothered with taking them back. Many moons later, i had to try and use them last week and got frustrated with them. My solution to deal with the hate I had for this wrench was to put some .308 ammo THROUGH them from 100yds. Well, last week didn't go as planned. I ended up only getting three hits on it before it fell and i had to wait for the range to go cold to set it back up. I got there late so I didn't have time to wait so just shot other targets. I could see I hit it, but I hit it on the edge where it's real thick and i hit it once on the head near the adjustment wheel. The handle got bent a little bit as well. But damnnit, they still kind of worked. (First three pics) Today went much better. I still only got a handful of shots off and only hit it three times before it fell. One of the shots hit the edge and the other two made me some nice holes. The handle is bent much more. The one really messed up thing is, now the wrench works GREAT! I can easily fully open and close it with one thumb. Better than new, i just need to take the sharp end off the hole near the adjustment wheel.

    Taboo talk?

Ah, ok. I kinda thought that talking about building an 80% would defeat the purpose of going 80%. I assumed big brother keeps an eye on people that talk about it on the net. Of course, just because you buy an 80% lower or even talk about them, doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to machine it into a firearm, could just be into expensive paperweights.

    Taboo talk?

Don't see much talk here about 80%, at least not as much as I expected. I was kinda wondering if 80% is like the Fight Club.
  6. Hey, nice thread to bump, I want some stickers. Expect a message shepp. Ok, I don't want my village torched and my women raped, but I gotta ask about the availability of shirts, there was talk about it on the last page but nothing set in stone. I'll take an xs muddy girl camo tank with matching tutu and banana hammock.
  7. That first sentence of my last post was more rhetorical than anything else. I didn't get butt hurt thinking you were calling my MB tacticool bling or something, if my post came across that way.
  8. So what you're saying is you don't think the MB will perform that great due to the design? If so, i thought about the same thing with the way the slots angle and based off which MB's did good in the testing done on TTAG. I finally got to shoot her this weekend, and you would be correct that it doesn't work that great. It works, but it works better for muzzle rise. I can stay on target much easier now. The concussion isn't bad at all, but the shooter does notice it too, more than with other brakes. I really didn't get it for recoil reduction since the recoil isn't that bad to begin with, but any is better than none. Here's a quick video of someone trying out my AR.
  9. It's from F-1 Firearms. http://f-1firearms.com/
  10. Don't remember what I started out looking for, but ended up on this site and found some of the handguards interesting , you can even custom design one. https://unique-ars.com/

    Football

Great season for the Cowboys so far, finally been exciting to watch. I'm with you wash, never been a big Romo fan, he was a good upgrade from Carter and Hutchinson, but he isn't all that and a bag of chips like Jerry thinks. I thought they messed up letting Murray go, but like how that worked out. Going 4-12 last year was a good thing for them. Lots of surprising teams this year, good and bad. Could be said every year though I guess.
  12. Yes sir, it's about 15-20min to Jacksboro from the lease.
  13. I went to Rifle Gear in Plano today and picked up some pws shims, they aren't black but oh well, not too noticeable so they will do for now. I'm still going to order the black ones and maybe a jam nut too just so i have options. I didn't get back to the house until late to install the MB with the shims so didn't get a chance to go shootin. Survivalshop, thanks for the info to think about. I do have a wood barrel vice block. I didn't think about the distance the MB is designed to be away from the crown. Mine unfortunately isn't easy to tell where it is supposed to be since it is tapped all the way to the first baffle. It bottoms on the shoulder before touching the end of the muzzle. No info on where this brake is supposed to be, so I of course used the fewest shims possible and a dab of rockset.
  14. 5 gerbils = 1 guinea pig ... approximately. What's the price difference on these rodents?
