  1. Most people are so dependent in America today, thats what will be our downfall, want food, do this, what clean water, do that, want security, get the chip.
  2. Yep, thats precisely what I mean, but its usually elk, deer, pronghorn, birds like grouse, turkey, ducks and geese, have not killed a moose yet myself. There are 4 people in my family who are eligible to buy tags, so there is no shortage of meat to go around, especially if you add in the fish! LOL. Ya. hunting for meat to feed my family with a rifle or a bow is about as anti democratic party as one can possibly be.
  3. Naw, sure I'd eat a Ribeye if you were serving it, wouldn't buy one though.
  4. Oh dude come on, pronghorn is the chit my brother, ask any of us MT guys! Take Randy Newberg for instance, he'll tell ya pronghorn are his favorite big game meat, as will lots of others, I like moose, hell I like it all, we haven't eaten any "government meat" like store bought pharmaceutical filled beef or chicken etc in many a year! ;-) You must not have handled the meat right post kill, or something... haha.
  5. I've not gotten drawn, YET, but moose is the best tasting big game animal, side note, I shot an antelope with my bow last year and let me tell ya that meat is great too, close second!
  6. There's way too much info out there to argue the minutia here, so lets move on...
  7. If you read the entire article, you won't have to. But please, comment away...
  8. I know, just teas'in... Consider this; http://www.scout.com/military/snipers-hide/story/1677748-bullet-point-ep-20-260rem-vs-6-5cm
  9. Hornaday promoting it, perhaps in years past, but not today. Any decent barrel maker will make you a barrel in either. 6.5 brasss, specifically because of its popularity is almost infinitely available at this point. Ifyou are a 7-08 guy, perhaps the 260 makes more sense for you if you from a reloading perspective at least. And as for performance... well I presume its because the ballistic data and shooters experience shows definitively that the 6.5 is superior, regardless of what that margin of superiority may be. Note to self, ARTrooper has hater issues... ;-) LOL JK
  10. Welcome from MT, I am building a 6.5CM currently, you can take a look at what I have come up with in my thread, thanks to these fine gentlemen and scoundrels as it may be respectively speaking... ;-)
  11. Hey Wash, LOL... Its not hydraulic, normal buffer for the most part, just has an ext to prevent tilt, but check it out, lots of guys seem to dig it. Half the price of the JP too. Got my Tubbs spring, thx, pretty cool! -RRS
  12. Welcome from MT, I bought the Tubbs flat buffer spring, and am considering purchasing the CTS Aktive Recoil Buffer. http://www.davidtubb.com/tubb-springs http://www.ctstrimmer.com/aktive-recoil-buffers/18-aktive-recoil-buffer.html
  13. Right, myself included. Point being people living in glass houses should not throw stones, right... ;-) I just suffer from a multiple diagnosis I suppose... LOL.
  14. Says the fella frequenting a 308AR dedicated website, that brain worm sure comes in a bunch of flavors... ;-)
  15. ... I sense this is not going to end well.
  16. Any of you 6.5 CM guys have an opinion about the JP HP Bolt, keep hearing on a 6.5 CM build that bolt is the right call, its like $200, I bought my BCG a while back for $200, that would be a pricey BCG completed, but if its the right thing its the right thing.
  17. Got my PRS today! What a great piece of kit!
  18. Ya the 1911 was the king of the hill for a long time. I like the 320, have you shot it, seems like what the 226 should have been.
  19. 1911 more reliable than a Glock, hmm, as a hammer perhaps. 1911's were never noted for their reliability, durability yes, but not the other way around. We all luv the design, its a sentimental favorite, but honestly no 1911 can survive the equivalent torture of running 1000 rds in rapid fire without a failure, or being buried in dirt and mud, frozen, and still function, etc etc etc. 1911's are my favorite firearm, but not because of the reliability.
  20. Good points, but...meh? I like the way my Glocks feel believe it or not, it took some training and they are not the natural point angle for me as say my 1911's, but its a subjective thing right, and so for me its a tool, and just like my gransfors axes or Makita drills, they're the best option for what tool they are IMO, and I learn to work with them, and work with them well. There is hardly a question but that the Glock is one of, if not the single most durable pistols on the planet, they have endured excruciating torture tests and out performed all the usual suspects in the process, that is simple fact, not a subjective observation. There may indeed be other simple pistol platforms out there that are also easy to maintain, ie., striker fired copycats, etc., but none that are more reliable or easier to maintain. As for parts for Glocks, they are everywhere, and there is probably more factory and/or after market parts for Glocks out there than any other pistol in the world less perhaps the 1911. I own and enjoy HK's, am not a Sig fan particularly, although they are fine handguns, but all in all its just damn hard to beat the price of a Glock and still get equitable form, function, and aforementioned appeal that the Glock offers. I know there are haters, plenty of them, but rest assured sale figures confirm the scales are tilted far and away in the Glock fans favor. Anyway, to each their own, I am one guy, but I own 4 of them, and there will be more to come... LOL. Here's to us all enjoying shooting whatever platform one chooses to trust with defending your life, I do. ;-)
  21. Welcome from MT.
  22. When it comes to 308 AR's... the question right now is "What don't I have on order"! LOL
  23. I put this PST on a 25-06 and had a ball with it today! Very clear, big bright glass, good stuff!
  24. I went to the dark side 7 years ago, Glocks are just ideal tools for work, they're cheap, run reliably under all conditions, parts galore, easy to maintain, etc etc... its a no brainer. Americans make plenty of money off Glocks, no reason to wish they were made here, or a US company owned them. Just MHO.
