  1. I certainly thank you and appreciate your candor.
  2. Howdy All! I've a chance to buy but not certain which Gen this is. And neither is the current owner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Absolutely that. Plus it's just neat to blow things up
  4. Howdy there Herk308!
  5. Howdy Starkster!
  6. Not pre 2 Amendment repeating firearm but I have told many anti's that prior to and during the American Revolution that our Navy were cannon equipt privateers and merchant ships. Cannons owned by private citizens.
  7. Yep I am looking specifically for one of the old Bishop or Fajen's. With the cheek piece/Monte Carlo.
  8. Hey there SwampGunnr! I am a big fan of the .338 Federal.
  9. Not so much that I prefer fossils over artifacts just that in the area I live there are just so many fossils (mammals, birds, reptiles and marine etc...) that it keeps a hunter busy. But I keep my eyes open for artifacts and for Fairburn Agates too.
  10. Good evening Big Mike! Overwhelming due to there being so many good parts and pieces? I am mighty new here but have been reading post for a while now and do believe that you will get outstanding advice and help here.
  11. Howdy there jander6442! I am mighty ignorant concerning the SCAR guns but I know about Timney. How did the Timney work for you?
  12. Hey here funny_spartan! Won't say that I am always tripping over American, and older, Indian artifacts but when out fossil hunting I do keep an eye out for points, stone tools teepee rings, washed out firepits etc... Two summers ago I took and friend and his wife out bone hunting for their first time and within 15 minutes he found a complete and beautiful atlatl point. Plus we found some very nice mammal fossil pieces too. Hope you dig, why yes the pun is intended, your Oracle!
  13. Feeling mighty welcome here! Thank you! Yep Alliance and Kilgore are not to far from here. Some family on my wife's side live in Alliance. Harley's (Shovels, Pans, Iron Sportsters, Early Blockhead/EVO's and some Flatheads), Triumph's, BSA's, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Bultaco, Husqvarna. Though I have worked on a few Suzuki's, Moto Guzzi's, Aermacchi and a few others.
  14. Google searched DPMS Oracle 308 review and this place was on the list on the first page of the search.
  15. Yep I am closer to South Dakota and Wyoming than just about any place else. Though this part of Nebraska (the Pine Ridge area) is incredible for hunting (white and mule deer, turkey, small game, some elk, pronghorn etc...) trapping and a whole lot of outdoor fun. I am a committed follower of Jesus the Christ and a multi gun owner and shoot them all. My wife and our two oldest daughters/children (10 & 12) also are followers of JC and gun owners and shooters. As a 55 year old I started late having and raising a family. Of course my wife is younger than me and just flat out incredible! For a living I work on vintage motorcycles and tinker on some firearms. Bikes and guns, go figure. I have some experience with 30 caliber semi and full auto firearms including the 30 caliberish former Warsaw Pact weapons. I am a former U.S. Army Infantry Scout/Recon of 12 years. But that was a long time ago. For years I have considered a .308 AR and bought one of the DPMS Oracles. I do not know what or how much I can contribute to this forum but what I can I will. Thanks a heap!
