  1. F' ing funny. One of the few reasons I'm glad I no longer live in Texas or Colorado. I still find em working out of various places at times. Lil Bastards suck
  2. 6 Dasher and 308 twins
  3. LOL I can't tell if you're busting my balls or serious. Now I'm gonna have to slap a pin in a spare gas block tommorrow. lmao
  4. Lol. I never thought to take pictures while doing the last one but I suppose I can make a mock up for you if interested.. Yes the gas tube retaining pin. I didn't want to buy more punch's and jigs. I'm cheap like that..?I do the toothpick hold also. I've got a poop load of electrical tape to make the pliers smooth and non-marring and always have a pliers or leatherman handy.
  5. I used to have issues with fighting with a gas block retaining pin. Then a long time ago I thought why not use pliers instead of trying to pound a small pin in with a punch or find a special punch to hold it slightly? So long story short, I took electrical tape to wrap the jaws of a pair of pliers to keep it smooth and leave no marks on the gas block and left a small tag hanging off where the pin could stick to it facing the hole. A very small bit of oil at the hole helps it slide in also. This seriously takes all of about a 30 sec to a minute to squeeze in. I've shown friends this trick after they tell me they have been fighting with little burrs caused by trying to force the pin in with a hammer. They sit there with there mouths hanging open and usually laugh and call me a couple choice expletives. I hope this makes sense. If not let me know.
  6. truth. Intresting to see BRCC doing this. Glad for the support.
  7. not a problem doc.
  8. I am finding out a few things in this build. My hope is that it helps someone down the road.
  9. Mystery solved. 15.25" will be perfect.
  10. LOL not in this case.
  11. Hell yes. The barrel is in. Just need to find the time to put everything together. Hopefully next week.
  12. Agreed. I went into it eyes open knowing at that price point I would be changing out what I needed/wanted. Still was a good value to start. Didn’t want to drop $$ on a rifle I would still change components out of.
  13. I wouldn’t let CTD lick my sack. Horrible company that takes advantage of people
  14. I have a complete upper that is carbine length. Gonna sell it. The barrel I am putting in is a full length. I was hoping someone had done this so I could pick their brain.
  15. LOL thats why I was hoping I could go off of prior experiance instead of dancing around. I wasn't wanting to take the gas block of another ar to fit test.
  16. True enough. Verbiage matters in deciphering issues. I agree completely. To throw on an adjustable gas block without dealing with the primary issue is short sighted. 308 is just too much rearward mass and energy to be dealt with from a standard weight buffer and spring. I've never dipped my toes into the 308 realm before now other then precision bolt shooting. Learning as I go and from reading here. Thanks for keeping me accurate.
  17. Well the good news is that I went into this with eyes open. I wanted a buget platform that I can tune with quality parts where it counts and still save money. But like you I'm surprised people aren't having masive over gassing. I can only guess that most are not running corked. I've built many AR's in 223 but had no idea the AR10 platform was the wild west with no accountability. lol Learning every day. But for the cost it is still a great base to start a build. That is once I mic everything out and I'm sure I will have to lap the upper berfore I am done.
  18. Just ordered a armaspec 308 captured recoil spring to go with the barrel and adjustable gas block. I run 2 others in my ar15’s and a JPS in a third. I will prob sell off the original barrel since I’ve never even shot through that tube. New barrel just came in
  19. I'm really PO'd about this. I happened to be pulling it apart and WTF? Why????/????
  20. Lol. I’ve framed some tools in the past also. I’m prob more comfortable using a crescent wrench vs a shimed wrench though. Especially the first time I try to pull this beast off.
  21. Long story short. I’m dropping a BSF CF rifle length barrel into a PSA upper. Anyone done this and what is the correct length tube. I’ve seen different rifle length gas tubes and want to nail it first time.
  22. I have seen this posted for over a year now with PSA selling lowers with a lightweight H buffer. I Just purchased a complete lower and thought for sure this would have been rectified by now. Nope I have a standard H buffer instead of a heavy H3. Set up the customers for failure.
