  1. Thank you. And thank you for your service too! I've developed a bit of a reputation here locally as "the girl with the pistol in the camo Jeep". I've got a local deputy that's kinda become a friend since he sees me out running errands all the time. We've talked more than once about his Sig and my 1911. Judging by your handle, I assume your a MoPar guy? We've got a 340 Duster project in the works. Hubby is a die hard MoPar freak. Got pics of me lapping valves on the 340 8mo pregnant lolol.
  2. Wow, now that's cool! I've seen Greg before he passed, and Warren, but otherwise it's just been Hubby's bands doing covers. He does a great "Whipping Post" cover. We're just both too young to have seen Duane or Barry. Duane and Dicky are almost God's around my house lol.
  3. Covered in fishnets and dusted green. Got a funeral to be at, so we'll see in a bit if it's going to dry or not. Fingers crossed!
  4. And that's when the GA humidity bit! Paint absolutely wouldn't dry! So this morning I admitted needing some help lol. Hubby to the rescue!
  5. Then I figured it was a good time to paint!
  6. Got into the gun locker and discovered it's a total wreck. So got a helping hand to sort some brass.
  7. Well as some of ya'll know I'm going to be shooting my new PA10 this weekend. So to get prepared, and scratch the itch while I wait, I've decided to just make a whole weekend of it. Started off yesterday morning, got my bipod mounted and spent a while doing some dry fire trigger practice down the hallway. (Warning! Obligatory booty pic lol, I mean hey, gotta have good form right?!?)
  8. We went to "The Big House" Muesem down in Macon for our anniversary a few years back. If your a ABB fan, it's a must do pilgrimage. We rode the bike and went to Duane and Barry's crash sites, the cemetery, etc etc.
  9. Ya know, we've never had any experience at all with a .17. He's looked at them in the stores and shows and such, but never bit the bullet so to speak. I'm sure it'll happen one day lol.
  10. Too funny! I'm listening to "Eat a peach" right now lol.
  11. I'll just put my 10% remaining in the offering plate on Sunday. I mean think about it, AR's from .22-.308, pretty sure there's meat to be had there. I make some mean Squirrel & Dumplins.
  12. Ok cool. Sounds like a plan. If we keep this up we'll just have to get on the forum "family plan" lol.
  13. Haha, I actually told him about the Sprinco Orange spring from our conversation last night! I guess I'll have two of those on my shopping list now. This was apparently a piece build buy a coworker of his that needed the cash. Honestly, I'm more proud of him wanting to start reloading now than anything else. We've all but begged him to get into it with us, now that he's in the .45 arena it's financially justifiable for him.
  14. Aw y'all, that's too cool! Thank you very very much! I know he'll love the patch.
  15. So lo and behold, I join this forum, we discuss my PA10 a bit, and guess what? My little brother (29 this year, how time flies) shows up to show off his new AR45. My husband was still sleeping (night shift worker) so naturally I had to be first to "inspect" it lol. First thing he says is that it's hard recoiling. So I blurt out all loud and proud, #1 gas system, #2 recoil system, gotta work together little bro!! Whoops, guess I should have looked before I spoke, #1 doesn't even exist! I did manage to save some face though and compared his buffer to a standard PSA carbine buffer, same monster. Same spring it appears too. So we know that's a potential problem. Next thing he says is "gotta add a bolt catch". So I looked at it, it's milled out like a standard AR bolt catch area in the lower, but there's no way a magazine follower can get anywhere near it to trip it. Apparently that just won't do for him. I have zero clue about these things and their quirks, but it was really cool getting to be half right and at least informed enough to have a legit conversation about it. He wound up leaving with one of our reloading manuals, which was the whole point in coming over to begin with, to do some research before my husband gets him on the press to start loading .45. I never thought to snap some pics when he was there, but I'll get some when we go shoot this weekend. He's so butt hurt about the bolt catch, that he may give the lower to my husband. I wonder if there isn't something missing that we're just not familiar with. So yeah, just figured y'all would get a kick of my little whoops moment, and I promise I'll have some pics and specs to post this weekend.
  16. Oh I'm late to the game, dunno if this counts, but this is my husband and daughter on the 4th last year. I just loved how perfect the moment was between them walking to the parade route.
  17. Come on down to Atlanta! Always having a party at Hellbender HD.
  18. Or put tire shine on them either! Bikini wash girl training 101.
  19. Yep, exactly. Glad it shed some light on what I was trying to explain. Good news is we have some easy options to move forward with.
  20. I heard back from customer service today. I'm happy with the blem solution (store credit). As far as the buffer tube, they said that it's covered under warranty if anything goes wrong. I take that to mean just shoot it as is and then we'll deal with it afterwards. However modifying in any way does void the warranty, so...... We just texted about it a bit and he's got a plan to not "modify" the tube or buffer as is, but he's going to make a longer buffer from a spare 15 buffer to offset the issue. On the up side, I'll get to shoot it this weekend and so long as that goes well, we're going to modify and forget the warranty regardless.
  21. More details and pics😀. Tape measure won't fit in the tube so I replicated, with his help, what he did yesterday. I rolled a piece of printer paper and put it in the tube. I then marked the spot that it met the open end of the tube itself. I laid everything out and measured the tube mark, plus put a true 7" mark above it. With the carrier and buffer laid on the paper you can see the clearance issue even with my non precise sharpie marks. Again, I promise I'm not bashing palmetto or even that upset about this. We knew to look out for it ahead of time and it's a simple easy fix. First pic is the relationship between the tube and buffer retainer as was asked about earlier. You can also see the bare spots on the lower just from hand cycling and confirming the issue. Second is just the paper rolled up inside the tube. Third is the paper laid out flat with the parts on it for reference. I didn't make a mark for it, but including the lower threads and "curve" at the rear, the total depth of the whole thing is 7 1/4. Hope this clarifies what I was trying to explain.
  22. Not yet lol, he mostly Google's for answers and just lurks around. I'm on a International Harvester forum as well for my Scout, same kinda deal as here, found some great info so I decided to reach out.
  23. It was on the other side of Athens GA (east of Athens) from us. I apologize if I came across as it being part of the Appleseed, it was after the event was over and done. There just happened to be a gong way out there and and the range guy was just humoring us. Also, please don't think I was hitting it every time either lol. I got a total of 3 hits over maybe 2 hours of trying on and off. It was super fun regardless, and if anyone is interested in a Appleseed I strongly recommend it.
  24. Googled "PA10". Already had parts on order, and I was excited to see how great my rifle was going to be while I waited lol. Glad I found ya'll. Potentially saved my rifle from certain damage.
