  5. The travel past the bolt catch doesn't sound right. You are aware that the bolt catch catches the front surface of the bolt locking lugs and not the bolt carrier right? The face of my bolt doesn't travel very far at all past the bolt catch, more like a quarter inch at most. Also Wilson Combat may have been hinting that the gas block/gas port alignment may not be correct and the block may be blocking part of the port. I am not an expert by any means, but I did learn a lot the hard way during my cheapass PSA build. Took several months and probably 2-300 rds of ammo just to get it running right. ETA: Then I found this place and those threads got me fixed quick.
  6. Read through these threads and if you pay attention to details and do what they say you should have your gun fixed in short order. https://forum.308ar.com/topic/16857-308s-seemwellproblematical/ https://forum.308ar.com/topic/730-buffers-and-springs/ https://forum.308ar.com/topic/16799-gas-tubes-barrel-gas-ports-and-buffer-weight/ In my case, it was gas tube length that fixed my problem. Also make sure your gas port is big enough.

  8. It's my bedtime anyway
  9. Nevermind. I'm wrong. When I actually try to add to cart THEN it tells me it's out of stock. Please forgive me
  10. Still showing to be there for me. 1 8pounder left and apparently some 1 pounders. I went back and re-opened the page so I'm not looking at old info--I think.
  11. Never let anybody tell you I didn't do my part for the resistance
  12. I went back and looked again. Lot of it still there. Be sure to click on the options-1 lb or 8 lb
  13. Man I posted that as fast as I could. I hear a lot of folks are using bots to buy powder/primers now. Probably the same asshats that sell primers etc on Gunbroke for a buck apiece.
  14. Glad somebody benefitted

  16. MY PSA supplied bolt would NOT headspace with 2 different barrels. The original PSA stainless barrel AND the Faxon pencil barrel I installed later. Kept having case head separations on starting-level loads. The bolt would go into full battery on a NOGO gage. Replaced the bolt and fixed instantly. When you check the headspace be sure to remove the ejector. I also removed the extractor to be doubly sure that all I could "feel" would be actual headspace. Also to those who come along and read this later, if Armalite is out of stock on the 12 1/16" gas tubes, do a search for LBE Unlimited gas tubes. I found plenty of those in stock at various places when Armalite tubes were unobtanium.
  17. Someone on Snipers Hide put a link in their post about troubleshooting a PSA 308AR. Since I was also troubleshooting a PSA 308AR I followed it here. That, in turn , got my gun running without a hiccup. Mainly this thread right here: https://forum.308ar.com/topic/16799-gas-tubes-barrel-gas-ports-and-buffer-weight/
  18. Glad I could cheer you up and also glad I didn't start off over here on your bad side. 😉 One thing I learned on the Hide is "Don't start nothin' and there won't BE nothin' " Seen a lot of newbies get their asses handed to them in short order by the real pros when they started spouting off BS.
  19. "Welcome aboard, and glad to see the information helped someone, without them soliciting for help - THAT is why the info is up there, and it's great to see your words. By chance, where were you referred from, if you don't mind?" Someone on Snipers Hide put a link in their post about troubleshooting a PSA 308AR. Been a member there since 2009. My PSA 308 was built from a parts kit, 16" bbl. I later changed the bbl to a Faxon pencil barrel to try and make it a little lighter. But I had many and various problems with the gun from the get-go, and changing the barrel did not effect any of them. The MAIN problem I had was random case head separations with starting-level loads. I finally got hold of some headspace gages and found that the gun would fully and easily close on a no-go gage. I had already changed the bbl so I decided it had to be the bolt. Bought a Lantac bolt assembly which fixed that part of the equation instantly. Your articles fixed the rest. I couldn't find an Armalite mid-length or "carbine length" gas tube but did find out another company makes the same tube-LBE Unlimited. Worked like a charm. Again, thanks to all for the help and the welcome messages.
  20. Forgot to mention I'm in central Louisiana.
  21. I was referred here when I was troubleshooting my PSA 308AR build. I found a treasure trove of tried and true info that fixed all my problems in short order. Stuff like short gas tubes, light buffers etc. Thanks to 98Z5V and everyone else for all the help. Mtrmn
