  1. Congratulations! Very exciting. Best of luck!
  2. Do you still have the 300 blk brass?
  3. Once fired factory 308 win brass. Mostly federal, ppu, pms brass cases but some other brands mixed in. Most has been cleaned but not all. Also a decent amount has been sorted into individual bags by brand but again not all of it. Probably 300ish cases if I had to guess. But not sure exactly how much. Can get an actual count if anyone is interested Looking to trade for:308 projectiles- open to weights300 blackout cases- once fired/non reloaded300 blackout diesOpen to any other offers as well
  4. @98Z5Vawesome! I am glad to know they good to go. I also use the hodgon online data from time to time just out of convenience.
  5. @98Z5V Hodgon 2023 annual manual Lyman ar reloading handbook 2nd edition Lyman pistol and revolver handbook 3rd edition 357 pocket guide i have the Hornady reloading app with a ton of data downloaded.
  6. @98Z5V @MikedaddyHi have a couple manuals. Are you referring to the part where it says accuracy optimized or preferred powder? I am just unsure if I missed that in my manual.
  7. @MikedaddyHthat is very good to know. Thank you! I always do a ladder test when working up a load. The part I can’t figure out is how some people know certain powders like a heavy or light bullet. For example as previously mentioned H335 in 223 is good for 55’s. All of that is just trial and error? Or is any of that based of burn rate of a powder? Or case fill with a certain bullet?
  8. @MikedaddyH@98Z5Vthat is good to know! How do you determine what powder is good for certain bullet weights?
  9. @MikedaddyHwhat projectiles are you using for 223/556 with h335?
  10. @MikedaddyHyou like using H335? I have 1lb but read mixed reviews online.
  11. Decently stocked up on those at the moment so the funds are directed towards large rifle at the moment but I agree! I do that with the powders I like to use. One I like to use but can’t find anywhere is Aliant AR-comp. No where to be found locally.
  12. update: went to the range today. Did a test of varying charge weights. Groups of 5. Did very well. Right on par with my 308 head stamped brass which was strange. But even stranger was my groups on average were way tighter. I would say by probably a 1/4 in or so. Is this just a fluke? It was with all 5 groups. I also noticed the primers looked a little different than my 308 win head stamped brass.
  13. @MikedaddyHit really is brutal! Saw Large rifle once. More often small pistol or rifle but not often.
  14. @MikedaddyHi have cci bar’s before but everything is so tough to get.
  15. @MikedaddyHdo you prefer them to other brands?
  16. @MikedaddyHok will do. I am currently using S&B primers and the prime fool on my press. I am gonna try my lee bench prime.
  17. @MikedaddyHah ok. I do that currently. I make sure the primer pockets are clean. I noticed they still seat tough.
  18. Loaded up some lake city cases. I made sure to swage the primer pockets but I noticed they were very tight still. I ran them through my reamer as well but still very tight to put the primer in. I am wondering if any of you guys have any tips for this?
  19. @MikedaddyHthat is the plan!! A buddy of mine was talking about melting brass down and doing something with it but I am not sure.
  20. @MikedaddyH @98Z5Vi agree. Seems like a major pain in the ass! Not worth it at all unless it really came down to it. Especially where boxer brass is so common in the caliber. I ended up finding in my bags of already sorted brass that I actually had about 200ish lake city cases. I prepped 25 fully last night. Going to load them today and start my testing with those to find what charge is best.
  21. @MikedaddyHi see what you mean. I have about 700~ empty cases. But obviously no berdan primers. @98Z5Vyea that’s kinda what I am thinking. I have a stock of about ~150~ 308 win head stamped brass to reload. So not hurting for brass. Just want more hahaha and where I had these cases. But I don’t think it’s worth the time.
  22. @MikedaddyHis it worth converting?
  23. @MikedaddyHah I see what you mean. Well was a bit disappointed. Finally got around to prepping the brass so I thought last night. Turns out it is berdan primed. Not really worth converting right?
  24. @MikedaddyHjust curious. Is it something with it being Malaysian? That is my plan. I got it free so that’s more the only reason I am bothering with it.
  25. @98Z5Vahhh ok. That makes a lot of sense! Do you do it all by hand? Oh wow. That is insane how much it damages the brass! What is the purpose of that?
