texas30cal Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 A buddy of mine is looking for some and I haven't been able to locate a source, does anyone know of a source? Thanks in advance
EasyEJL Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 its almost all berdan primed, which is a royal pain to do anything with
survivalshop Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 There is new unfired boxer primed stuff out there , but its expensive & I know he's looking for fired brass.
texas30cal Posted November 22, 2014 Author Report Posted November 22, 2014 There is a guy on YouTube that fills berdan cases with water and removes the de capping pin from his sizing die , then runs the case up into the die real fast in order to push the primer out hydraulically. This looks easy enough, are berdan primers different dimensions than boxer primers?
survivalshop Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) That's a good question , I have never worked with them . I had a size chart , but it didn't copy correctly , but here's a sight to show it . Scroll down for sizing chart. http://www.dave-cushman.net/shot/berdan_supplies_dimensions.html Edited November 22, 2014 by survivalshop
EasyEJL Posted November 24, 2014 Report Posted November 24, 2014 the main thing is berdan primer pocket has 2 holes, so you can't use a pin to push out. that water trick works ok on once fired military ones that have had the primer replaced, doesn't work too well (or at all) on original military primers
