Has anyone modified his G2 Recon by adding the Vltor A5 7 position buffer tube?

If so, did you keep and use the DPMS G2 buffer and spring that came with the G2 Recon? How does it work and function?

Yup. I modified BMoney's with the VLTOR A5 7-position tube, Armalite action spring, and H3 buffer. It won't work with the stock action spring and buffer.

Awesome group there FaRKle!  I have a G2 Recon I bought last February. From day 1 it has had the primer cratering and the 2 extractor marks (bad). I noticed you mentioned that. Not trying to change the subject, but has there been any mention of fixing these problems? I have worked with this gun on and off and it shoots a good group at 100yds, but to show no pressure I have to back down the loads.

Thanks for advice in advance.

Why is it a problem ? Its not blowing out primers & its not failing to extract , where's the problem to fix ? Manufacturers are not concerned with how your brass looks after it has been ejected from the rifle , as long as it serves its purpose & is safe to use . Only reloaders care how much damage has been done to the brass for its reuse .

Fired brass was never meant to be reloaded . Its fired & discarded . Now us reloaders , well, we feel a little different about it .

I want my 308 to feel like a .22  <lmao> ,so I'm potentially voiding the warranty to do it . <dontknow>
