Magnifying components for inspection

  I had a friend turn me on to this little gadget that has a cover & magnifier for my IPhone & have been playing with it for a year or so . When I want to look at something very closely , like for cracks in a component I take a photo of it with this magnifier & can view it on my Mac Book Pro & inspect it even closer . If I want to keep it , I crop it for what I want to see , & save it .

 Here are some examples. Thought some of you might find this interesting .

 

 This is a locking lug on my DPMS 308 bolt , it has a notch worn in to it  , all of the Lugs have this issue & Bolt will not be used again , unless its an emergency , of course.

  Same Bolt , Firing pin hole in Bolt face . You can feel the roughness with your finger nail , but to me , it doesn't look all that bad for a high round count .
