80% jig modification

I purchased a forged 80% dpms lower and got a jig from 80%arms since that's what I used on my ar15's and it worked well.  However, I didn't see when I ordered it that their jig is only compatible with their billet lowers.  They only accept returns on jigs within a week and I was passed it so now I'm stuck with it and don't want to buy another one.  My theory is if I can mill the necessary relief into the jig walls and get the pin holes to line up I should be OK.  Just wanted a second opinion before I go scrapping a jig and a lower, thanks.
